Hey all, a while ago I made a few posts about a new group starting to discuss how to build online communities. The first meeting is now set for Thursday, July 26th 7PM at the Santa Monica Library community room. (Wifi/Projector will be there)
The group is likely to have a bit of a Drupal bias in technology terms since that is what I use and a couple other folks attending do too but the group itself is more about building the community in the marketing, networking, monetizing sense and less about the nuts and bolts.
Anyway, the group (of course) has a Drupal site to announce the meeting and discussion.

Good to see some progress on this - seems like there's some there's some similarity to elements of this agenda (http://groups.drupal.org/node/5101) - ideally we'll be able to connect the dots and 'focus' our efforts.
