Drupal Community Cultivation Grants
The Drupal Association recently announced the Drupal Community Cultivation Grants - a new program designed to provide financial support to Drupal event organizers.
While full details are available at the link above, I wanted to make sure this group knew about the program - please spread the word to aspiring event organizers. Raising the initial funds can often be a large hurdle - this program aims to lower the barrier of entry for organizers.

Hi,
Hack social is this Friday and we urgently need developers to offer to help out for the day, and we'd be disappointed if there wasn't a good drupal presence.

Drupal Drinks Glasgow - May / June
Hi everyone,
I have two dates available for us to use the Go Slow cafe (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/go-slow-cafe-glasgow) for our next drupal drinks. One falls on Thursday 19th May a few days before DrupalCamp Edinburgh and the other is on Thursday 2nd June.
We'll have the cafe to ourselves and as mentioned before it would be £3 per head to use the space. Food available for those who wish it and it is BYOB (plenty of local booze shops).
regards,
Paul
Announcing “Britain does Drupal”
DrupalCamp Edinburgh and Drupal7Camp UK would like to announce they are joining forces for “Britain does Drupal” a weekend of Drupal Mayhem on 21st/22nd May.
If your focus is Drupal 7 development, themeing or performance then head to Leeds but for a wider focus Edinburgh is where you want to be.
But don't worry if you can't decide where to go, we aim to provide live streaming between the venues and Drupal7Camp is planning to run again in the last quarter of this year.
Read moreEdinburgh Drupal drinks April -- hackfest for the DrupalCamp site!
We're overdue some Edinburgh Drupal Drinks, as we seem to have skipped March entirely!
We also need to get together and build the site for the upcoming Drupal Camp.
So I propose we get together sometime in the next fortnight, and over a few beers put together the site. It'd be great to make this a collective effort, and even if you're relative newbie, you can come along and gain some hands-on experience!
Who's interested, and which dates can you make it?
Read moreRedesign? Change Scotland Group homepage to Panels Layout
Would it be possible to alter the layout of the groups.drupal.org/scotland page to use a panels layout? The default 'River of News' layout as is currently implemented is not a great way to see what's going on. As an example, the LA Drupal GDO site uses this already.

Proposals and ideas for Drupalcamp Edinburgh sessions
Duncan suggested to me that I do a session on using git, so that's got me thinking about what other sessions I could present at Drupalcamp Edinburgh.
Here's what I've come up with:
-
git workflow:
basic clone, commit, push and pull workflow; feature branches and hotfixes and rebasing -
contributing back to Drupal
The basics of how to use the issue queues, the benefits of contributing patches and modules back to Drupal -
module builder
I'm always happy to give a demonstration of using module builder :)
