Read moreUser management lacking
I have always found the user management aspect of Drupal sorely lacking.
With all the other improvements to Drupal 7 I naively thought user management would make the list. Disappointment has come.
Why doesn't Drupal 7 Core allow you to do the following SIMPLE things:
- admin/people show you how many users you have, total, as well as census by:
a. role
b. status - admin/people allows you to not just filter by role/user/status but by username
Why? do you ask?

Hello everyone!
I have just discussed within my company, www.ideup.com, about helping with further tests. We already have a usability lab with a camera and are willing to set up everything needed to bring a group of people to perform the tests.
Webchick says that there are more areas of Drupal 7 to be tested by people who does not know Drupal. Could anyone help me out to find them? Which are the top priorities at the moment?

Mobile Verity
Read moreVerity is a part time administration assistant for a cancer support charity. She is working part time while she completes her Social Care Diploma. Before she left work to study, Verity was a Personal Assistant in the Finance Sector. Verity is in her late twenties. She is quite proficient with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel etc.), and she uses Facebook and email but she doesn’t consider herself very good with technology.
Nonvisual site development with Drupal 7
I have lurked for a little while, and this is my first post to this group. I have met some of you in person or virtually in other contexts, and appreciate your contributions to Drupal accessibility. In learning Drupal 7, myself, I have encountered some problems as a blind developer for which I have not yet found solutions (though I have done much reading of Drupal books and web articles). I hope some of you may have helpful thoughts on the following issues, divided into Blocks and Views; Content Types and Forms; and Status and Error Messages.
Read moreUsability Idea for the Profile page and the Edit Account page.
Hi everyone, I just created a new feature request for D8: Separate User Profiles and User Settings because is one of the things I always end up changing in every project.
The main idea is to create a Settings page to hold all the account and user settings and separate it from the Profile page. Also, the settings page should be divided into small sections of settings to avoid having a long form with multiple settings in it.
I also created a sandbox project at http://drupal.org/sandbox/lelizondo/1098228 for D7 to test what I'm proposing.
Read moreGaining Control Over User Narratives
I am writing this post to introduce myself and to invite both developers and UX designers to discuss a concept that I think is central to UX systems design - that of the User Narrative.
I am a UX designer and software developer with over 20 years of experience in the commercial software industry. Over the last 4 years I have shifted my focus from desktop to web applications. The last 3 years have been almost entirely spent on learning the ins and outs of building web sites on the Drupal platform.

This post is my comments on various Drupal usability matters I spotted during Bay Area Drupal Camp 2010 (BADCamp) presentations, as inspired by jenlampton's talk WordPress is better than Drupal, developers take note.

Integrated vs. Fragmented
Topics about the usability of Drupal remind me on the most recent Steve Jobs' speech against Android and Open Source community over iOS and integrated solutions: http://tinyurl.com/steve-jobs-vs-android
I don't know how many of you guys will read this and find it interesting, but I think this is a pretty good question on usability. Steve Jobs labelled here the Open Source solutions as "Fragmented" (which is fairly true), and claims it will clearly lose battle against "Integrated" solutions (which is an argument I hear quite frequently lately in many different forms).
