Long Island Workshops

Hi all! At our first meetup we threw around the idea of doing some workshops for beginner to intermediate users. I like the idea and wanted to ask the group what subjects we think would provide the most value for us? I understand we are diverse group from pure beginners to advanced users and would like to mix it up a bit for all of us to enjoy.

Here is what I am thinking:

  1. Have a 15-30 minute "Getting started with Drupal" walk through. I would be happy to do a quick install and answer any questions people have along the way.
  2. This can be followed by a small module discussion where we can share useful modules and show beginners how to install and configure them.

I also like the idea of the 5 minute presentation which I believe the NYC group is doing. This is where a few people choose a single topic for a quick presentation followed by a small discussion.

I am thinking maybe sometime in early August we can get this going.

Any thoughts?

I like your idea. I have been putting off Drupal Development and leaning more towards Wordpress.
I really need that Kick-Start for using Drupal.

P.S. Just wrote a post about Drupal CT. I think it would be great for the LI Group
