Tools to Help Coordinate and Fund Community Initiatives: The Snowball Code Sprint
Thanks to the leadership of Allie Micka and R.J. Steinert, the Snowball initiative to provide tools for coordinating and funding Drupal initiatives is coming to the Boston area this long weekend for its first code sprint.
We will focus on building a working alpha so we have something real to share for feedback, to refine, and to build process, message, and governance around.
We'll be working on Friday November 11th, Saturday the 12th, and Sunday the 13th starting at 10am on Friday and no later than that on the weekend days in Somerville, Massachusetts.
If you can dive into helping build this, contact rjstatic or contact mlncn for directions to the venue.

The Boston PHP group has acquired some free, collaborative, wifi-enabled work space on Saturday, 11/12 at the Microsoft N.E.R.D. center which is very close to the MIT space the Boston Drupal group uses for meetups.
"Do you have projects you've been dying to work on, but you're not sure how to get started? Are you looking for a way to get away from the distractions of home life so you can focus on development? Do you work better in a collaborative environment where you can bounce ideas off another developer?"

(Registration: http://tinyurl.com/vd-hackaton)
On Saturday, November 19, we are organizing an open Hackaton to provide Drupalistas with an opportunity to get their hands dirty with VoIP Drupal and push the limits of the platform.
VoIP Drupal (http://drupal.org/project/voipdrupal/) is an innovative open source framework that makes it easy to build Drupal websites that literally pick-up the phone, make calls, record messages, broadcast audio, and more. By enabling the creation of hybrid systems that combine web, SMS, email, and touch tone phone technologies together, VoIP Drupal takes “community plumbing” into a new dimension, facilitating the implementation of community outreach initiatives, phone-based polls, voice menus, audio blogs, click-to-call systems, and much more. Features include:
* Common API that facilitates interaction with different Internet-telephony providers such as Twilio, Tropo and Plivo (FreeSWITCH)
* Simple dialplan scripting language for the creation of interactive phone calls with voice menus, conference calls, audio recording and more
* Sample code and sandbox that help people explore and play with the different aspects of the platform (http://voipdrupal.org/)
* An already-existing suite of modules that extends and builds upon VoIP Drupal capabilities (http://drupal.org/node/1078790)

At the June meet-up, I demonstrated the Multicolumn filter, my first try at a D7 module. Thanks to the encouragement I received, I uploaded it to drupal.org as a sandbox project, and eventually applied for full project status. Today it passed code review, and now has its own project page: http://drupal.org/project/multicolumn .
You can see a test page and a real-life example.

Changed drupal.org email address but emails are still being sent to the old address
Hi all,
I changed my email on the drupal.org website. As far as I can tell there is not separate email setting for group notifications. However, I'm finding that all the discussion notifications are still going to my old address. The only thing I'm getting at the new address is the monthly automated mailing list reminder that comes from mailman-owner@drupal.org. Feels like while there is no interface for changing the discussion email address, that it is in fact being handled by the system separately. Can anyone help me get this resolved?
Thanks,
Laura

The purpose of this short anonymous survey is to gain insight into the dynamics between Drupal website development firms and their clients. Basically, as a community, we want to take a quick temperature check as to how things are going. If you complete this survey, we’ll share the aggregate results with you.
