Plans?

LIGHTNING ROUNDS
New feature. Have a topic you can present in 5 minutes (with 5 more minutes for questions)? The basic idea is there are patterns for developing sites the "drupal" way ("what would drupal do? etc."). Tell us a quick 5 minute recipe for how to put the Drupal "bricks" together. Theming techniques or other things may also be appropriate. Propose it below. Make sure you mention it is for the "lightning round" otherwise it might get confused with a longer presentation.- BADCamp ~ Recap
- Signup for 5 minute ~ Lightning Talk
-
20 Min Talks
Have a topic that needs more then 5 minutes, we have slots of 20 minute talks. The basic idea is there are broader subjects or more detailed discussions this is the type of talk you would want to signup for, please mention 20 min talk when posting your talk description and the audience you expect to speak to.- Building a Module (CORS) - "We'll do it live!" (Eric Duran)
- Surviving the Storm - Using Drupal for Disaster Relief
-
Break Out Sessions
Breakout sessions take place in the "other room" and are more informal, covering any number of topics.- New 2 Drupal BOF table - New to Drupal? Bring your questions and problems for expert help
- Drupalcamp NYC 12 planning discussion - informal, ad hoc discussion to plan next Drupalcamp
- We will also have the New 2 Drupal BoF(birds of a feather). If you are new to Drupal and the talks don't apply to you some of us will take a group and talk with you about your issues.
Signup Instructions!: 7 World Trade Center security checks your photo id against the list of attendees that we provide.

That link is not working! I click on "provide your full name" and get page not found.
Page not found
First edit your details on the full Drupal site - www.drupal.org - to fill out your full name.
Then return to this page while still logged on, and you will be able to sign up. If you still get the error make sure your clear your cache (shift and press refresh).
Thanks

Meeting status
I see quite a few people signed up for the meeting. We are currently waiting for confirmation from our host that we still have a green light, given the calamitous events of the past week.
Stay tuned for an update on this.
need to back out
Regrets, but need to cancel my signup. No train service from my area to NYC, no way to get in! :( See you all in December, still hoping to make the Play Day
Who is going to be there tomorrow?
Would love to hear from others who have signed up as to whether you will be there [sic].
Current plan is to hold the meeting, and in addition to our regular items, have some sort of breakout discussion on the week's events, relating them to socially conscious Drupal based projects, including some of the disaster relief sites that have been quickly spun up in the wake of tragedies like this.
Afterwards link for suspenders?
The Google Maps link doesn't appear to do anything useful in the context of the meetup. It shows me a regional map of results for "suspenders". Is this intentional?
Suspenders is at 111 Broadway
I'm not sure what you are seeing, when I click I see that the top maps listing is Suspenders Tavern, where we have our post-meetup "Stammtisch."
This could be a result localization issue, esp. if you're looking at this from outside New York. Can you email me a screenshot, and we'll follow up at the meeting to make sure the info that people need is there?

http://maps.google.com/?q=Suspenders&cid=15798436359602217114 is redirecting me to https://maps.google.com/?q=Suspenders, same in incognito/not logged in.

So there's no talk listed so
So there's no talk listed so this is what we're going to do.
We are all going to build a module together and at the end we'll be uploading the module to drupal.org and have it be a contrib module.
This module is going to be a very simple module. The name of it is going to be CORS.
Essentially we are going to build a Drupal UI for sites to enable CORS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-origin_resource_sharing) on their site.
This will including enabled and disabling cors, also Allowing wildcard domains and whitelisting domain.
Also we'll add a feature to only allow CORS for json request.
This should be a fun experiment.
No previous experience require.
I'm game
Let's do it!
Thanks to Eric for rocking
Thanks to Eric for rocking one of the best presentations we've had at any Drupal NYC meeting this year!
For those of you who missed it, hoping Eric will to this again at Drupalcamp NYC.
Features Presentation
I can do a lighting or 20 min talk on the Features module (http://drupal.org/project/features) if there is interest and time, depth of the discussion would depending on whether it's 5 mins or 20 mins (i.e., creating features, nuts & bolts/under the hood, strongarm, overrides, limitations, resolving conflicts, etc.).
Sorry, but given the weather
Sorry, but given the weather rolling in, I'm not going to be able to make it downtown tonight (also didn't hear any feedback/++ on suggested features presi).
Did not attend
Sorry I didn't make it.
Had to leave early so I wasn't stranded in NYC, normal commute is 1.5 hours anyways, storm made it much longer (2+ hours, standing on a bus).
Will be at the next one!
