Hi NYC and area Drupal folks,
The US Social Forum will be taking place June 27 - July 1 - it's a nation-wide gathering of progressives for 3 days in Atlanta Georgia. Probably no surprise to all of you: the technology is driven by Drupal (http://www.ussf2007.org).
We currently have a team of about 8 - 10 volunteers helping to maintain the site and support the technology needs of the hundreds of organizers around the country who are making this event possible. And, we need more help! We're particularly deficient in the theming category. And, we're particularly swamped in the need for very tweaked CCK stuff. However, regardless of your Drupal experience, we simply need more people to help us carry through the project.
The current crew is really friendly and has placed a priority on involving new members and sharing knowledge. And, we've done some interesting stuff, particularly on how to develop a Drupal site as a team (we've setup a staging server and we're using SVN to store custom modules).
If this sounds interesting - you can learn more about the project and how to get involved here: http://www.ussf2007.org/ict. We're a national group, but most of us are in NY and several of us meet in person at ABC No Rio (http://abcnorio.org) Sunday afternoons to work on the project.
