Happy New Year! 2015 is going to be an exciting year for the Drupal world. If you are an experienced developer, designer, or project manager OR just starting out come down and enjoy some learning and pizza!

For our first meetup of the year I am thinking we do a "show and tell" format. Do you have a project you worked on 2014 or looking to launch in 2015 that you can show off? This is a good opportunity to bounce the project off our group. Every time I do something like this I walk away with valuable insights!

Date / Time:
January 21st @ 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Place:
LaunchPad LI (Huntington)
315 Main Street, 2nd Fl
Huntington, NY 11743
855-8-LAUNCH (852-8624)

Format:

7:00 - 7:30 - Introductions, arrivals, and networking
7:30 - 8:00 - Up to 3 5-10 minute show and tells.
8:00 - 8:30 - Pizza and continued discussion
8:30 - 9:00 - Module of the Month - TBD

I am estimating we will have time for up to three quick show and tells. If you have something you can show off in 5-10 minutes please post it below and I will reserve the spot.

To end the night we will be highlighting a module of the month. This is also open for discussion, I am thinking a Drupal 8 project maybe interesting... possibly the Console project (https://www.drupal.org/project/console)

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

We are one week out from our

We are one week out from our meetup. We still have the available slots for a show and tell. I've got some cool work to show off that we have been doing with Docker and Drupal, building on the whole TryDrupal8.com project.

Are there cool projects you want to bounce off the group? Doesn't have to be something you developed directly maybe just an interesting library you are playing with or a new service you discovered.

Looking forward to our meetup next week!

Project Management

In the spirit of starting the new year off right, I'd like to setup Drupal PM (https://www.drupal.org/project/pm). I've spun up an instance on Pantheon, and installed all the modules required ... any interest in having a group collaboration with the goal of exporting a full site package that we can install on any server?

Hey Annemarie, That sounds

Hey Annemarie,

That sounds good. Would you be interested to show off the PM module for a quick show and tell? We can then collaborate a bit to see how we can export.

Looking forward to our meetup this week!

Job Opportunities & Beatrix

Hey Guys....over the past few weeks I have been contacted about some Drupal related opportunities that I'd like to share with the group. One is for some freelance front end work and the other is for a full time PM position....will have more details at the meet up.

Also I have been reading about Beatrix, a social media management tool that I am finding interesting. Perhaps we can dive into this a bit and check it out a bit if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.

Awesome meetup this week! We covered alot of topics.

I wanted to post a question that arose regarding the Drupal Console to Jesus. Is there a reason why this project isn't integrated into the Yeoman suite of generators? We are seeing more and more tools being integrated to this and though this may be useful.

In addition, below are some links regarding some of the topics discussed:

Thanks.

Hi Nick, Thanks for talking

Hi Nick,

Thanks for talking and spread the word about Console.

This project is based on Symfony Console Component and not Yeoman because we are bootstrapping Drupal in order to have commands that interact with the service container. This allows us to do administration task not related to code generation as listing routes, services and configurations, clear cache this is the actual list of commands not related to code generation:

cache
cache:rebuild                   Rebuild and clear all site caches.

config
config:debug                    Show the current configuration.

container
container:debug               Displays current services for an application.

migrate
migrate:debug                  Display current migration available for the application
migrate:execute                Execute a migration available for application

module
module:debug                   Display current modules available for application
module:download              Install module or modules in the application
module:install                    Install module or modules in the application
module:uninstall                Install module or modules in the application

router
router:debug                    Displays current routes for the application
router:rebuild                  Rebuild routes for the application

Yeoman is great but is for other purpose, like this project "Scaffold a headless Drupal backend, Backbone Marionette" => https://github.com/enzolutions/generator-marionette-drupal

Awesome, thanks for the response. Makes sense!

I will have to checkout the Marionette project you referenced. I think headless Drupal is going to play a big role in the coming years.

**Edit: I apparently say "awesome" alot... LOL **
