At the last Meet-up I inquired as to if there was a DrupalCamp NYC being planned. It appeared there was nothing on the table. Are there any new developements?

A bit of talk
Not much yet. I'd say put it on the agenda for the next meetup.
However, with drupalcon two weeks away not sure how focused folks will be on it.
With the amount of lead time it takes to get a camp going if we get serious in May we're probably looking at a mid summer date.
some DrupalCamp talk
Thanks for the advice. I see you already posted it. I plan on attending Meet-up but am taking things one step at a time (literally) as I have a broken leg.

So far it's looking like we'll have a larger event (around 300 person capacity) at the normal venue (NYU Poly in Brooklyn) sometime in July after the July 4th weekend. This camp may be a two day event.
We should be discussing in more detail at the next meetup in May. The consensus at the last meetup was that we should consider charging for the event ($10 was suggested). If you feel strongly one way or the other about this, now's a good time to get involved in the discussion! There will probably be discounts for students and those who can't afford $10.
