This session is squarely targeted at the new to Drupal.

Menus are definitely a challenge to the "new to Drupaller". It all starts with the poor naming - primary menu? secondary menu? It doesn't help that various commonly used themes tend to throw these menus hither and thither. Two level menus? Oh yeah, that's intuitive - NOT.

We'll look at menus in themes and menus in blocks. We'll look at menus in Drupal 7 (and see what we can learn). We'll look at some modules - oh, yes we will. Such as Nice Menus, DHTML Menus, Superfish Menus (maybe), and most certainly Menu Blocks.

About the Presenter

winston is a drupal hobbyist (current drupal income $0) who can frequently be found spending large quantities of time creating and delivering training for the new to Drupal.

Want to learn to program menus, advanced menu theming like "mega menus", etc? DON'T come to my session - I don't know that yet :)

I was just thinking about it, I don't understand how to work with menus on real sites and make them active on all the pages that relate to channels etc.

I have been looking at the whitehouse.gov site, and their menu system in particular.
Any thoughts on how they do that?

I particularly like this site:

any thoughts on how to do this in drupal?
I am going to experiment with some ideas latter, but the more ideas, the better.
