What is the best way to add fields to the Article type in a way that is upgradeable?
One of my first tasks in building the Boston Review's new OpenPublish site was adding some custom fields to the Article type in OP 2.0. But when I upgraded to OpenPublish 2.1 I ended up having to start from the stock Article type in 2.1 and re-add the extra fields.
So what is the best way to add some CCK fields to the stock OpenPublish article type in a way that is upgradeable?

I'm getting ready to reinstall OP, but I do want a replay of the problems I was having with quotes and apostrophes in article titles turning into gobbledygook. I installed the features update and that cured the problem for blog titles, but not articles titles. Can I grab the latest (July 17?) off the main OP site, or should I wait until another version is released?

The site I am working on ATM will have to deviate from the standard OpenPublish distribution, like
- the site's only language is German, so Apture and OpenCalais (by extension the More Like This module) won't work, so I wouldn't just like to disable them, but not install them in the first place
- blog functionality is not wanted yet, that's why I'd like to keep the modules around but disabled
- I'll have to add some features especially for that site
Removing Related Terms from articles
Does anybody know how I can remove the "Related Terms" from showing up at the bottom of article pages? I can't seem to find out where to disable this option.

No matter what I do, embedded youtube videos will not appear in a blog.
And yet, they appear in the teaser.
Any ideas why this could have suddenly started happening today? Yesterday, this was not the case.
The only thing I can think of that has changed is that I activated MORE LIKE THIS, and that's obviously for the blog, and not the blog teaser.

Context Plug Ins Don't Work
Hello,
When I try to change context the old fashioned way (required, since my wrench admin tool in the corner works only when it wants), I click on "Block" and nothing happens.
Same thing happens when I click on PATH. Or THEME.
How can I fix this?

VIDEOS
I've Been Using OP since 1.6 for our weekly newspaper, and I love it.
But I have a few things I wonder about.
VIDEOS -- We upload a lot of videos to youtube and then plug in the embed codes. It's a pretty big hassle. I don't quite understand, in the CKeditor options available in "OP ARTICLE" what's the point of the "Flash Icon." Anytime I enter a "URL" of either a youtube video, I end up with a big blank spot instead of a video. So then I go to node/add and create a video. Now I have my OP Video. Going back to article, I use the ckeditor and select Flash. I past my OP Video URL.
Help - Can't get past this Features problem with my upgrade
I attempted to upgrade my site again from 2.0 to 2.1 with the exact same result with Features (not being able to finish the final step in the upgrade process with Features).
No Features lists display. When I attempt to click on Features to set each "overridden component" to "default", no components show up at all.
I remember there being a discussion between sTattler and irakli about OP not finding Features correctly? sTattler did something to redirect some tables in the database to the correct location... would something like this be helpful in my situation?

Hi all, having a bit of a problem with a new install of OpenPublish 2.1. This is a new install, not an update. Address is mns.jschool.umd.edu.
As best I can tell, I did everything correctly on the install, following the directions on both Drupal.org and OpenPublishApp.com. I installed it on a server running Microsoft IIS (no Apache, unfortunately). Running PHP 5.2.10. Running MySQL 5.1.35. As suggested here, I jacked up the memory_limit variable to 220M. I set the max_execution_time to 300, set realpath_cache_size to 2M, and changed the max_input_time to 120.

Slideshow problem
Hi Everyone!
My “article” has a relationship with a “slideshow” through the “Related Multimedia” field. What I want to do is the following; I want an article page to show its slideshow above the content.
I have a very nice slideshow view that works perfectly inside a block, except for one major problem. It shows the same slideshow on every article page and I don’t understand how to connect it to the specific article. I have tried using the Related Multimedia field, and it shows nothing instead.

I posted an issue below about a problem I was having with Features while upgrading from 1.7.1 to 2.0 to 2.1 (all in one sitting).
For some reason, things seemed to be working ok after the 2.0 upgrade, but when upgrading to 2.1, I could not finish the final step of reverting the Features listings default because the listings did not appear.

I have a menu item in the Primary Navigation Menu that I want to remove, however the item does not show up in the list of Primary Links in the menu section, or anywhere else for that matter. So I can not delete it.
I had created a new view with the same menu name which showed up and did what it was supposed to do. The other item still shows up but when you click on it it sends you to a page not found.
Any idea on how to rid the unwanted menu item? (I cleared the cache but it is still there)
