Fresh install ... file cannot be copied... in SHARED environment -- BRUTE FORCE solution

Getting "files cannot be copied" error when hitting my site for the first time after totally fresh op installation.

I searched for that error and applied all the suggestions that people had, to no avail.

I'm a programmer so I went into file.inc which has the file_copy routine that was bombing. I found the error message and modified it to spit out the $dest field (where it's trying to copy TO) (duh, right?) And it was trying to copy to the sites/default/files/css directory, so I changed the permissions on that as I had already done with the /tmp directory.

Pinch Host Question

Hey, folks.

I know there are roughly 290,294 threads for hosting questions, and I've looked at a bunch of them, so please forgive me for the redundant post. I have recently signed up for Pinch Host and had nothing but problems. Sent emails for them to update the PHP settings to allow the OP install, heard nothing back, their site was down for several days, when I call them for support I only get voicemail...

Does anyone out there have any experience with them? Is this common or am I just running into an aberration?

Image crop presets disabled - Why ?

Hi,

here is what i want to do :

I would like to change the Main and Thumbnail Image sizes for 'Article' (on the OP frontpage).

In ImageCache, i just add two new presets :

article_teaser350x100 > actions : scale and crop 350x100
article_full600x300 > actions : scale 600x300

My new presets are recorded with "normal" ("400xY" and "author_photo" are recorded in another mode).

"Comments" on New Content Types

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just created a new "Content Type" on OpenPublish and I made sure that users had the option to create "Comments" related to that node. In order to do this I made sure this content type had comments enabled and when posting the node under "Comments Settings" I made sure people could read and write comments. Permissions was also checked and anyone can post comments. The problem is that on this new content type, comments do not show up! Does anyone knows what is necessary for me to do in order to enable this feature on a new content type in OpenPublish?

banners outside the nodes - is evil

After installing Openpublish 2.2 I can't find, where the images of the tattler & openpublish banners are wrote. I want to put my banners inside nodes instead of this, not in html. How I can do this?

Home link not marked Active in menu system

I am using OpenPublish 2.2 and I would added some child links under the Home link in the primary menu system. What I found is that the Home link is not marked active by the system when I am on the front page, so the "on" class isn't added to that link, so the child links aren't displayed unless you hover over the link. I would like them to show by default. I know that the main menu system is controlled by openpublish-menu.tpl.php in sites/all/modules/openpublish_core/openpublish_menu. This is the code that appears there:

Topic Hub on 2.2 whites up the sceen

I first posted my question in http://groups.drupal.org/node/41056 , but that's another problem.

The problem is that after the topic-hub is created I'm unable to view it. When I try to view the screen whites up and I don't see anything. The log doesn't report any errors and the server isn't generating any errors.

Is anybody using Topic Hubs in 2.2 and do they also have issues? If they have not, what can be the solution?

Video size (Embedded)

Hi everyone,

I'm embedding video on my OpenPublish site... does anyone knows how to resize video. Every time I copy the embedded link from Youtube or Vimeo with the right size, Openpublish resizes to 425 by 350 pixels (Always!). Where are the settings for embedded video size?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Every once in a while OP releases a new update with new features, which is a good thing.

What I was wondering, if it is possible to not just create a full version, but also create a "Changed file only" archive.
I don't want to upload everything if only some modules are updated.

I usually keep things like the core etc updated myself and don't want to overwrite all again if it is not necessary.
Perhaps the developers can reply if it's possible and not too much work from their side.

Customize the homepage

Hello,

I have to build a webpage of a newspaper and I seriously consider do this with OpenPublish.

I have advanced knowledge of Wordpress and Joomla, but I am newbie to Drupal.

I installed OpenPublish and I started doing the first tests, but I have a major problem. The homepage that comes default order the news chronologically. This is not what I want. I want to order the news manually, and rank the order in which they appear, such as www.elperiodico.cat or www.elespectador.com (this is a Drupal version 5 site).

How can this be done in OpenPublish?

Problems with Flickr API key

I've added the flickr API key and Secret to my OpenPublish website on my dev server, but afterwards, I still get several error messages:

"You do not yet have a Flickr API key set. You will need to apply for a Flickr API key and enter your key at the settings administration page before Flickr images may be displayed."

I've double checked and the key is present and matches the flickr Apps Garden page. I've cleared the cache, and I still get the error message.

Any ideas??

how do I change the node detail page?

I'm new with Drupal and OpenPublish. I want to change the detail page for a node (e.g. remove the Login/Comment message for an article or add the original URL for a feed item), but I don't know how to do this. I did the following:
* created a new view (with Block and Page), added the fields and the live preview gives the output that I want)
* put the new view in the context that needs it

However, it doesn't return the right output in the detailpage.

Front page problem

Good morning, folks.

I am running into an issue where, when I publish articles to my site, I am getting the teaser for the article showing in a block in the left column. When I publish the next article that article's teaser replaces the previous, and the previous one does not show anywhere on the page anymore. I have checked that I have the front page set to show 10 items, but nothing populates into the main content of the front page.

Does anyone have any tips on how to fix it?

Where do I go to fix the "articles by this author" panel?

I need to fix whatever governs the "Articles by this author" view on the Author page (OP 1.7).

If you take a look at the screenshot that I have attached, there are a number of problems with this panel (e.g. spelling of "'aritcles' by this author", wrong article title font-style, css code is showing, nid shows, etc...), but I don't know where I need to go to fix this.

I've looked for a Panel page, couldn't find it. I've looked for a view, but didn't see the misspelt "aritcle". I've looked for a view template file, but still couldn't find it.

it's my first time use openpublish system version 2.2, i get error from installation page, like below

An error occurred. "openpublish/install.php?locale=en&profile=openpublish&id=1&op=do"

who can help on this, where is wrong, i follow the installation document in here http://openpublishapp.com/doc/installing-openpublish

Premium Content is not working

I have installed OpenPublish and all has been working well except premium content. When I set content to premium users only the text that says it is only available to premium users appears on the bottom of the page, but the page still displays. The non premium user sees the full article or page and at the bottom it has the message saying that this content is only available to premium users. Can you tell me how I stop the content from displaying and only have the restriction message show?

Using OP Theme with Stock Drupal?

Associating a new context (for a section front) with a theme

I am trying to make unique section front pages to replace the article landing pages as a I develop my site.
This is important for user-friendliness, as well as monetizing the site.
A funeral home might want the ability to advertise on the obituary page but not the sports page. A loud sports bar advertisement might not work so well on the obituary page.
But right now, the way I have the site set up, there really isn't a way to differentiate between the various section landing pages.

Importing events

I would like to import a number of events, but I cannot find a module that works.
Node import doesn't do events; importexportapi doesn't work either. I have the following questions:

1; Is there a module that does import events (preferably from a csv-file)?

2; As a workaround I consider the following:
- import events as other type that does work with node import
- change the type in node-table to event
- import required dates in content_type_events-table (with vid/nid data)
Is that a solution or will I break the database?
