Community discussions around Open Publish distribution.
OpenPublish is a packaged distribution of Drupal, that has been tailored to the needs of today's online publishers. OpenPublish is ideal for the implementation of a variety of media outlet's sites including: online magazines, newspapers, journals, trade publications, broadcast, wire service and membership publications. Built and supported on standard Drupal core (currently Drupal 6x), OpenPublish features support everything from basic news coverage needs to Web 2.0 trends, social publishing, semantic tagging and topic hubs. Each component bundled in the distribution is well supported, documented and modularly designed according to Drupal's architecture.

Important note: in order to fix consistency issues and critical bugs, in a timely manner, OpenPublish had to patch some third-party modules included in it. It's not recommended to independently update those. More information at: http://groups.drupal.org/node/60313
How to remove "User's Blog" at bottom of blog posts?
I want to remove the text at the bottom of each blog post identifying the original author: ie "Ed Sutherland's blog post." I want to ditch that since many of the posts are aliased to a column or a feed, rather than me. I've looked through node-blog.tpl.php and couldn't readily see where that string is coming from.
Read moreDeveloper needed for migration
Good morning,
We need to migrate and redesign the web http://hermandadblanca.org/. Nowadays we are having over 200,000 monthly visits, over 100,000 unique visitors and we manage and email list with “newsletters” and announcements once or twice a week for approximately 21,000 people having over 1000 new subscriptions every month.
Basically we want that the web to be focussed on four areas:
News Broadcasting (like a digital newspaper)
Organization of events (activities, meetings…a calendar and widgets…)
Managing multimedia staff (digital books, image gallery…)
Read moreAdd Feed Wants Username not Author
I'm trying to add feeds of external blogs. I create an author (say "Great Blogger") and then go to create a feed, plugging in the feed url. But when I go to change the author info from my name to "Great Blogger", the system refuses, because there is no "Great Blogger" user. I don't want to create a user account for every blog I aggregate; I thought that was what the Author construct was all about.
Any fix for this? The only way I've found around it is to manually create a blog post with "Great Blogger" as the author then cut-n-paste the blog item with my name.

Read moreArticle Titles Won't Accept Quotes
I'm using the latest build of OP 2.1. I discovered when I enter a headline that includes quotes, the " " marks are converted into &91;. This only happens in the article title; quotes in the article body or the deck appear as they should. I'm not using the limited input filter. This is something that has changed since OP 2.0.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function db_result() .../public_html/openpublish/includes/path.inc on line 55
I'm kind of new to this, i'm getting the error in the subject line when i first install. I looked this error up in other drupal discussions and other people have had the problem but their solution seems to be specific to other themes and not Open Publish.
Has anybody else had this issue? I'd really appreciate help with this. Thank you.
Read moreFatal error: Class 'MoreLikeThisFlickr' not found
Hi All,
I have just installed OpenPublish and have finally been able to get it to work. My problem is that when I go to add any new content i receive the following error message:
Fatal error: Class 'MoreLikeThisFlickr' not found in /homepages/5/d199254484/htdocs/openpublish/sites/all/modules/morelikethis/morelikethis.module on line 416
Would someone be able to assist in getting this error removed. Thanks.
Read moreScientific journals using OpenPublish?
Hi all --
I'm curious to know if there are scientific or scholarly journal publishers using OpenPublish for their journal sites. We're comparing OpenPublish to a more basic Drupal w/E-Journal module solution for the next iteration of our journal sites, and I'd love to get feedback on how it's working for publishers who have already made the switch.
Were you able to integrate well with PubMed/CrossRef/etc.? Anything you wish you'd done differently in your setup?
Thanks!
Read moreMeta Tags
I'm trying to add "Meta Tags" from the "Administer Content> Management> Meta Tags" section. After I configure the desired information in both the "settings" and "Default" and specific meta tags" sections and save, I then check the "view page source" and none of the meta tags are there.
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Read moreIs OpenPublish suitable for an online magazine that features primarily photo galleries?
I run an online magazine (www.largecarmag.com) that features about a dozen articles a month, each with a photo gallery (sometimes with as many as 800 images). Is OpenPulish an ideal solution for this, or is there another solution that would be better? I currently author the site in Dreamweaver and FTP everything each month. I'm looking to get away from this method using a CMS such as Drupal.
Thanks in advance!

Article Edits not Saving
I have been experiencing a peculiar problem when Editing existing articles, where changes to the Body of the Article are not being saved. Changes to all other components of the Article such as the Title, Deck, Teaser all change, however the Body of the article (using fckeditor) does not change at all...
Any ideas??

I would like to exclude a Taxonomy term from appearing on the Homepage Featured Article Block. I have set up an "obituaries" category and I don't want the articles associated with that term to show in the block.
I guess it has something to do with views but I can't figure out the correct filter to make it work.
I am a novice with Drupal and appreciate your help. Thanks.
