Outcomes from a brainstorming session at Design Camp Prague.

Who is a designer?

Well, even trying to define what a designer is needs a consensus. Being the host of this memorable session, I tried to gear it more in the direction of artistic designers that know little or nothing about coding, the most they would know is HTML and CSS, but no PHP (run and hide). It is this group of people that are really good at aesthetics but that hate coding that Drupal sorely lacks. Concerning people that are active in the issue queue, we had a consensus in another session that you cannot count more than four in all of Drupal. (which may be wrong, but it sure feels like this).

Vad föredrar ni - använda modulen Panels eller knacka koden själv (baserad på Zen, Omega, etc eller från scratch) ?

I was wondering if there was a section available where drupal theme developers could share pluggable, class based css styles for the views module?
I know plugins exist in module form but they seem a bit heavy handed when you want total control over your output and the css.

An example would be:

All you would have to do is paste this css into your stylesheet and add the class 'inline' to the view in the UI.

I'm trying to kick start a small, non-profit design community in Edinburgh.
It's called Open Source Creative community (www.oscc.web-sandwich.co.uk).
We have already had one event, where quite interesting speakers presented on design related topics.

I was wondering if anyone from Edinburgh, with some experience in Drupal, would like to do a small presentation on Drupal related topic ?

It'd be a small meeting, around 30 people - most probable audience are students, college/university employees and design professionals.

Am on the look out for young (or young at heart) designers who are fast, highly creative, not too obsessed by process and methodology, and familiar with drupal. Oh, and they should be motivated primarily by the nature of the project rather than the contract fee :-)
