Movies + Park + Food trucks

The Outdoor Cinema Food Fest (OCFF) a combination event featuring a movie, a street food festival and outdoor picnic -- no basket required! The movies are shown on the largest outdoor movie screen on the West Coast (standing three stories tall and 52 feet wide), and on Saturday, September 18th we're seeing Ferris Bueller's Day Off on the big screen. The movie starts at 8:30pm but coming early is recommended.

Tickets are $8 each (group packages are 4 tickets for $20), so be sure to order yours and bring some extra cash for the food trucks. Bringing outside food and drinks is now allowed! Also, bring warm clothing and either chairs (no chairs over 6" tall, please) or a blanket to lay out on the grass. Dogs are also allowed.

What's Drupal After Dark?

Drupal After Dark meetups have traditionally been social occasions where food and drinks are involved (and alcohol is an option). In the past we've met at places including the Good Hurt and Don Antonio's on the Westside and Masa in Echo Park and good times have been had by all. Attendees are expected to abide by both the Outdoor Cinema Food Fest policies and the laws of the State of California.

Join us for another LA Drupal meetup at the offices of at Oversee.net on October 19, 2010 in Downtown Los Angeles. There will be several presentations as well as open discussions, job announcements and time for networking. Several of us may be going to a local bar or restaurant afterward.

Attending the LA Drupal meetups is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can, including the LA Drupal events in Santa Monica and on the Westside. This event is free – in fact, there will be raffle prizes and food and drinks will be provided – and no RSVP is required. To breeze through security and get free or discounted parking, however, you can sign up by logging in and clicking the Sign up button below.

The first 35 people to sign up will get free parking and anyone who signs up after that can get discounted parking (the exact amount to be determined -- stay tuned!). All who sign up will also have instructions and last-minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting.

Please plan to arrive a few minutes early, especially if you're driving. The Outdoor Cinema Food Fest (OCFF) a combination event featuring a movie, a street food festival and outdoor picnic -- no basket required! The movies are shown on the largest outdoor movie screen on the west coast (standing three stories tall and 52 feet wide), and this Saturday, July 24th, we're seeing Pulp Fiction on the big screen.

The food trucks that will be there include Barbie's Q, Big Swirl, Bool BBQ, Jumby's Food, Komodo, Let's Be Frank, Nom Nom Truck, The Place LA, and Vizzi. Participating food trucks not listed here (and any other last-minute news) will be announced by @outdoorcinemafo on Twitter.

Tickets are $8, so be sure to order yours and bring some extra cash for the food trucks. I'll have two extra tickets on hand to give out to the first two takers. (You must be present to claim your ticket.)

Sunset Blvd. and good times have been had by all. For this event, however, no outside food and beverage is permitted. Attendees are expected to abide by both the Outdoor Cinema Food Fest policies and the laws of the State of California.

We're meeting again in Echo Park at the offices of at Digital Playspace on July 21st, 2010. Please join us!

Knowing how many people are interested in attending helps us better select good locations in the future and those who sign up will also have last minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting.

While this is a new meetup in Central LA, you're definitely encouraged to attend as many meetings as you can, including the LA Drupal meetups in Santa Monica. Our hope is that by having a venue that's centrally located in Los Angeles, LA Drupal can offer the same great presentations, Q&A sessions, news and announcements to those who aren't able to commute to the westside for the LA Drupal meetups in Santa Monica.

The LA Drupal group continues to grow and we're pleased to announce the first Central LA Drupal meetup. We're being graciously hosted this time by Digital Playspace at their offices in Echo Park on May 19th, 2010. Please join us!

It looks like Lee and I will be out of town for the next LA Drupal meetup (and maybe DrupalCamp San Diego, too) so we'll be meeting friends, having coffee and talking Drupal at the Venice Grind on Tuesday, January 6. Afterwards, we might go to dinner or have a soak in the hot tub. You're invited!
