The High Performance Drupal meetup is back! After taking a few months off, we're excited to announce we're meeting at Winkynet, a customer-focused, high performance webhost, at their Brea (Orange County) office on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, between 7-9pm Pacific. Join us!

About High Performance Drupal

The "high performance" part of the name is a catch-all to describe Drupal scalability, performance and benchmarking but we also discuss devops, deployment, infrastructure, high performance hosting, monitoring and highly repeatable processes.

We've been meeting since April, 2011, in a variety of locations around the Greater Los Angeles Area. Also, this meetup has been held at coffeeshops in the past and the addition of caffeine makes our meetings feel as if they go faster and faster as the night goes on.

We will be getting together at Droplabs from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm to get some hands-on experience building and customizing Features and learning to utilize Git as a team in a fast-paced code sprint.

We are helping OneDayCareer.org, a new mentoring organization focused on arranging one-day professional mentoring opportunities to college students, complete their Drupal website based on the DrobJobs installation profile. The site has progressed since the initial barn raising event and we will have a variety of tasks available for individuals and teams to tackle.

This year's event will be held in sunny San Diego at the Marina Village Conference Center -- just steps from beaches, Sea World, and the Mission Beach Boardwalk.

Thursday is a full day of training.
Friday and Saturday are two full camp days.
Sunday is fun-day with disc golf, beach activities, and sight-seeing

The 1st Tuesday of the month has come again and it's will time for the next Downtown Drupal meetup! We're meeting at Sensis Agency in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 7-9pm (happy hour at 6pm). Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

At this meetup, we're having our usual news and announcements, as well as raffle prizes, community Q&A, lightning talks (which are short, bite-sized presentations) and featured presentations. Is there a presentation topic that you're interested in? Post a comment to either request or offer a presentation, or contact any of the organizers listed above.

At DrupalCon Portland 2013, several members of the Greater Los Angeles Drupal and LA Drupal user groups gathered together for a group photo.

Each year LA Drupal and neighboring groups meetup up at DrupalCon for a group photo. This is short 15-20 minute event, people just show up and someone takes a photo, then the Internet is blessed with that photo. F-O-R-E-V-E-R!

Until a better place is chosen, let's assume everyone should gather near the conference registration tables.

We will need someone to volunteer their camera/device, and we usually grab someone random from the crowd and ask them to snap the photo for us.
