It's been a four month hiatus since our last Long Beach meetup. It was a good summer break, but fall is here, time has changed, and it feels like the season for some fun after work networking, sharing about Drupal, and some quality open source community time. Come join us at WE Labs (new location) in downtown Long Beach.

UPDATE: We've decided on Belmont Brewing Company as the meetup location.

We want to check out what is going on with Drupal 8 as we approach code freeze. We might even get a little contribution in tonight.

This is a working meetup where we will be learning how to and/or contribute patches to Drupal core or contributed modules. Please bring your laptop.

We will try to host a Google Hangout during the event, but usually don't come online for about 20-30 minutes until after the meeting starts.

This month we hope to do some preparation for the upcoming Drupal 8 sprint: http://groups.drupal.org/node/277768 -- perhaps if we have enough local interest we can join the sprint formally as a group the weekend of Mar 9. Otherwise, our goal is to help everyone interested in joining this, or another sprint, to be prepared and have the tools they need to help contribute to Drupal.

It will likely be pretty informal and very hands on Q&A. We'll also have lots of time for networking and general Drupal Q&A.

This month we'll have introductions & announcements maybe followed by a short presentation or two. It'll be an intro/overview plus some Q&A. Then we'll quickly jump into how to contribute to Drupal.

During each meetup we focus on testing, creating patches, or finding ways to help and contribute to Drupal. Want to help? Can't code? no problem. There truly is something for everyone. We'll teach you.
