Welcome to the Austin Drupal Users Group!
As of April 2025, we are no longer posting events in this group (there are too many places to post events and groups.drupal.org is dying a slow death).
TxDUG / Texas Drupal organizers are collecting contact info for Drupalers in Texas so we can stop being reliant on other platforms (here’s looking at you Meetup.com) for communicating announcements. Please fill out this form so we can email you about Drupal events in Texas (you can choose which regions).
Please join us in the #austin-texas channel on Drupal Slack. If you aren't already on Drupal Slack, join here.
We continue to post our meetups in Drupal.org's Community Events section.
For now, RSVPs for our meetups are in our Meetup Group, but this might change in the future. Best to be in our Slack channel or on our email list.
Hope to see you at an upcoming meetup!

Topic: Local Drupal Development with Docker
Speaker: Michael Schmid (@schnitzel), amazee.io
Developing Drupal is easiest when you can do it locally on your computer, but installing all the tools necessary can be a huge pain. Nowadays, Drupal needs all kinds of tools to run: a webserver and database, Drush, Composer and many more tools. Getting them all installed and running in sync can take hours, even days.

Presenter: Jeff Cardwell
Topic: Getting Started with Composer and Drupal 8
What is Composer? Why should I care? If we plan on producing Drupal 8 websites, we really should know a bit about Composer. It will be baked into Drupal for the foreseeable future, and the sooner we get started with it, the less pain we’ll be in for.

Automated Web Testing with Selenium

Every software development group tests its products, yet delivered software often has defects. Test engineers strive to catch bugs before a product is released, but they always creep in and they often reappear, even with the best manual testing processes. Automated software testing is the best way to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and coverage of your software testing. In this training, you will learn how to automate web applications for testing purposes.
