TxDUG / Texas Drupal organizers are collecting contact info for Drupalers in Texas so we can stop being reliant on other platforms (here’s looking at you Meetup.com) for communicating announcements. Schema.org Rich Snippets announcement and report on Drupal 7 semantic web tutorial in Austin
In case some of you missed the announcement last week, Google now supports RDFa in its Rich Snippets using the schema.org vocabulary. As I explained in my blog post, this is great news for Drupal 7 since it supports the RDFa syntax natively. I've put together a schema.org module for Drupal to make it easy for site admins to set up their pages in Rich Snippets (currently supporting the types person, event and recipe).

Collecting stuff for victims of the Bastrop fire at Dojo
My motorcycle group is doing a donation distribution ride to help those families who have lost everything in the Bastrop fire. It really hits home as I look off my front porch at the scorched earth no more than 50 yards from my house and thing about how lucky we were. So, anyone interested in donating anything to the cause bring it to the dojo on Thursday. If you've got time and transportation, we're doing a collection of stuff at the Bike Night at Twin Peaks in Round Rock, Thursday night.
