For DrupalCamp CO 2011 we ran into a bit of a problem with how to send out an email to the local community about the camp. We had posted on groups.drupal.org in the relevant groups (there are about 6 groups in or near Colorado), tweeted, and talked about it in IRC, but we wanted to email people, people who may have not heard about the Camp on the existing mediums. We have email addresses from those who registered for the camp last year, and groups provides a group broadcast to its members, but if we used each of these methods separately we would be sure to send duplicates to some people.

Hello,
We are in the early planning stages for Drupalcamp Atlanta 2011 and wanted to throw Saturday, October 8th out as a potential date.
Does anyone know if this conflicts with any other Drupal/OSS events or major happenings in the Atlanta area? I know Do it With Drupal and the Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit are scheduled for the following week.
Finally, interested in volunteering? We will begin to tee up committee meetings soon. If you would like to help out please reach out to me at dave dot terry at mediacurrent dot com

This guide strives to help organizers of all types of Drupal-related events to effectively plan and organize their event. While most Drupal events are called "DrupalCamps", there are a number of other types of Drupal events that are also covered. The terms "DrupalCamp" and "Drupal event" are used interchangeably in this document.

What is a DrupalCamp?
The term "DrupalCamp" is used to describe various types of Drupal-related events usually organized by a local Drupal user group. Tradtionally, DrupalCamps have effectively been either un-planned sessions (in the spirit of unconferences like BarCamp), mini-conferences with pre-planned sessions, or some attempt to combine both formats.
There is also a growing number of more focused Drupal events that are also organized by local user groups, but that don't really fall into the "DrupalCamp" category (hackfests, clinics, etc...) While these aren't strictly "DrupalCamps", they share many of the same attributes, and the planning and execution of these events are similar to more traditional camps.
The absolute basic necessities for a DrupalCamp are sessions, a host facility, and people interested in learning about Drupal. In reality, that's all that is absolutely necessary. Most DrupalCamps have additional features including sponsors, birds-of-a-feather sessions, snacks, lunch, t-shirts, and a social/networking event among others.

Hello folks,
Drupalcamp Colorado 2011 (June 11th and 12th) is in the fun position that we have a great low cost venue but no wifi in that venue. Gulp.
We're looking around for solutions and it seems like we will likely end up buying some routers/access points. So...we're curious if anyone else:
- Already has some industrial strength* routers that they would rent to us.
- Needs to also purchase/rent wifi gear for an event they are throwing and would be willing to help us pay for it
Drupalcamp Bucharest 2011 was rescheduled for May 7-8, 2011
Drupal Romania Association announces that Drupalcamp Bucharest 2011 was rescheduled and will take place in 7th and 8th of May 2011. The event was previous scheduled for April 16-17 but due some technical and organizational issues we had to postpone it.

During DrupalCamp Chicago, a couple of "DrupalCamp Organizers" BoF sessions led to the decision that an updated and improved DrupalCamp Organizing Guide (DCOG) would serve the community well - providing aspiring user groups with valuble information about organizing their first camp, as well as providing experienced user groups with a structured place to share resources and lessons from their experiences.

DrupalCamp accounting practices
I was just wondering how other DrupalCamp organizers handled the money-side of putting on an event. We've hosted DrupalCamp Austin two times now, and both times we've just had the money flow in and out of our company's PayPal and bank accounts. Ideally, you would want the camp to have its own accounts so that the money can cleanly exist separately from that of the hosting company/organization.
