The group to discuss the use of groups.drupal.org. This is for active users of the site, group admins, and maintainers to collaborate on how to improve the groups.drupal.org site. There is also a Maintenance group for people who help maintain the site, such as those with editor permissions, or those are interested in the maintenance of the site. More specific issues should be posted to the groups.drupal.org project issue queue.
Og2List and Cpanel/WHM????
Hey there,
Tried to get my systems administrator to install og2list today.
He replied:
" Are you sure you want us to make all those mail router configuration changes to your exim config. I do not see cpanel supporting this software and so mails on other domains may get messed up by this. "
So I ask you: "Will og2list work with a dedicated host running cpanel/whm?"
When I tried to add the settings to my exim.conf file on my own all other mail stopped.. When I removed the changes I made the email resumed being sent... all email that didn't go through in the interim was then allowed to be delivered.. so nothing was lost.... but then I had no idea what order to put things in or if some settings should combine with or supercede others...
<!-- break --> doesn't appear to work?
Or maybe it just hates me. ;) See my "Did some housecleaning" post on http://groups.drupal.org/google-summer-of-code-2006.

A place to suggest and discuss new Groups to be possibly created on groups.drupal.org
I'm pretty new at Drupal and don't feel like I'd be the person to be leading one of the Groups right now
But, I would like some Groups to come into being, so want to suggest a few here
Perhaps someone who is involved with these modules and core areas could start them:
Forum - all about the Forum functionality and specifically how to move towards a robust solution that compares well with pure forums like phpBB, SimpleMachines, etc
Organic Groups - all about OG
Social Networking - how to enhance social functions (I guess based on buddy list or maybe other modules), including views of users at > 1 degrees of separation, their posts, interests, etc
Read moreProblem with MY group notifications
I like the group notifications box in the right hand navigation bar, but I've encountered a problem. The RSS feed links, and both of the 'all posts' links seem to work OK. But the 'my unread' and 'my groups' page links give me a 'Page not found' response
I also tried to use the issue tracker for this, but while I could see a list of already created entries, I received a 'unauthorized' response when I tried to create a new issue my self.
BTW, so far I like what I see with OG, and I'm planning on adding it to my test 47 site so I can get more familiar with it.

I guess this is the place to talk about "issues" - :). First off - Moshe - you totally ROCK! :).
Yesterday when I tried to upload a file (.png) in the events group the file wouldn't "take" - it just won't upload. When I tried to report this in the issue tracker I got to the content creation screen but there a) wasn't a "tracker" content type and/or it wasn't clear how to categorize the issue so that it would go to the right place.

The site is looking good Moshe. However, I got caught up in an SQL error when I navigated into the cases tab in the search page.
Warning: Unknown table 'n' in on clause query: SELECT * FROM node INNER JOIN node_access na ON na.nid = n.nid WHERE (na.grant_view >= 1 AND ((na.gid = 0 AND na.realm = 'all') OR (na.gid = 0 AND na.realm = 'og_public') OR (na.gid = 0 AND na.realm = 'og_all') OR (na.gid = 30 AND na.realm = 'og_subscriber') OR (na.gid = 326 AND na.realm = 'og_subscriber') OR (na.gid = 162 AND na.realm = 'og_subscriber') OR (na.gid = 303 AND na.realm = 'og_subscriber'))) AND type = 'casetracker_project' in /var/www/groups.drupal.org/htdocs/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 120
Casetracker and submitting issues
Under "Feedback" at http://groups.drupal.org/helloworld, the following is stated:
The site has a simple ticketing system for reporting issues. We hope to soon provide each group with its own ticketing area. We also have a feedback form -http://groups.drupal.org/contact.
When I click on simple ticketing system for reporting issues, it shows me the 6 issues submitted thus far. (7 issues total as of 5/7/06, but one of them is a duplicate so really only 6 issues.)
So far so good.
However, when I get to the simple ticketing system screen and try to add a new case, I don't see a way to submit my issue.

So what do we do when a group expires (the event is past)?
I'm thinking of the LinuxTag 2006 group at the moment.

I cannot get file uploads to work when I add a story to a group. I'd like to upload some high-res .png screenshots.
Also, can we add table tags to the allowed html tags? <table> <tbody> <td> <th> <tr>

first of all, thanks much to moshe for getting this site up. i agree with robert's assessment at the top of this group's page that this is where a lot of the real work will be done in the future.
apologies for posting this here, but there seems to be no indication whatsoever of how we're supposed to create new groups. ;) i'd like to create some developer-centric groups for:
-
events (people working on all the event, event relationship, etc stuff from http://drupal.org/node/52884, and other interest out there in improving event support in drupal)
-
(maybe) project/issue tracking maintainers/developers
Avatars interfere with code and polls rendering
Oh, those avatars. You're probably going to have to make a node-poll.tpl.php without the avatar in it. I guess people can work around the <code> sections not rendering well, but the polls are unavoidable.
Read moreDrupal social meeting in Copenhagen
Announcing the first official Drupal meeting in Denmark. It will be at a café in Copenhagen.
I will come back soon with details on where we will meet.
The first meeting will be mostly social, but I guess we will be talking a lot of Drupal stuff anyway. Everybody is wellcome - newbies and experienced alike, consultants, developers etc.
Please let me know if you will show up. Discuss at Drupal Danmark
If you can't make it on the 18th, please let me know, so I can include you in the next round of invitations.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
need for cache cleaning
I guess this is what I need. After importing a new language everything looks translated but the upper tabs. Would a cache cleaning resolve this? should I request a cache cleaning everytime I upload a new language?
Read moreThanks Moshe!
First of all I want to congratulate Moshe Weitzman for making this site. It was his vision, all the way from creating the organic groups module to presenting the idea in Vancouver to coming through and implementing it. Hurray!
I love this site. It is already generating much more rich and focused discussion than drupal.org in my opinion. I predict that this is where the work will be done in the future, whereas drupal.org will make its natural transition to the destination for newcomers.
I created this group so that people had a place to give feedback on this site, volunteer to help out with things, and discuss future directions.
