Every developer and power user develops a toolkit of shortcuts and hacks that become second nature. I'd like to present some of the ones I've discovered over the years, and invite ideas from the community to share their own, which I'll include with credit to each contributor.
Some examples -
* SVN shortcut functions to simplify SVN in the terminal,
* Drush shortcuts like getting the size of a database in one command,
* all kinds of terminal "fu" with find, grep, ssh, pipes
* Textmate helpers like the Drupal bundle,
* the Drupal extension and other developer goodies in Chrome,
* a PHP script for dynamically generating SSH-database-syncing bash scripts
etc... I could probably fill 15-30 minutes of my own tricks (and others I research), but what would really make it rock is learning everyone else's tricks!
Everything covered would be documented either as code snippets or links for everyone to use afterwards.
About myself: I'm a freelance developer at http://NewLeafDigital.com, been building dynamic websites for 9 years and primarily Drupal (in a Mac/*nix environment) for the last 2. I'll be visiting NYC from Boston for the camp.

Any chance you'll be posting your presentation for those of us on the left coast?

Definitely, I'll be putting everything I present on my blog and here with code snippets.
Merged with Intermediate Drush
It looks like this session was merged with the Intermediate Drush session ... continuing the thread over there on how to do that.
To help with your merge...
If you want to do the Chrome stuff as part of another session, my Firefox addon session is a good fit for that, I'd be glad to have you focus on that for ~10 minutes... We can discuss details, and I'll share an older version of my presentation so you have an idea of how it'll fit nicely.
I appreciate that! I don't
I appreciate that! I don't think the Chrome stuff will take very long, though -- the Drupal plugin itself will take <1m to show, and the Inspector stuff is pretty similar to Firebug which I assume you'll cover. If you want me to do a few minutes on "how everything that was just said translates to Chrome," though, I'd be happy to try.

Unfortunately the audio+screen recording I tried to do didn't work, so there's only the slides.
Thanks to everyone who attended!

I taped this one. I'll post a link once it's online. Many hours of tape so it's probably going to be a few days. Heard good feedback about this one so I'm looking forward to watching it myself.

Did you ever manage to get that tape online? Just curious.I found the session video at http://benbuckman.net/tech/10/07/drupalcampnyc8-session-developers-arsen....
