I've slightly modified the agenda to account for consecutive presentations. Usually presentations are run parallel in different rooms for an hour.
However since we only have one room today we have to run the meetings in consecutive order. I'm giving each presenter 40 minutes.
This month's meeting will be held in the computer lab (160) only. Please sign up if you want to attend.
Parking will be in Lot 7 or the garage.
Remember to signup with real name field filled in if you want to reserve a parking spot.

presentation -- let me know
Hey Tom, let me know if you still need me to do a presentation soon. I know we spoke about the presentations we had lined up and two sets of presentations were going before me. I have no idea how long ago we had that conversation (as missing the last meet-up has thrown me off quite a bit). Let me know when I should be ready to present.
You're on, Jon!
Thanks for resurrecting your offer to present, Jon.
If you can do it for October that would be great.
What topic would you choose?
Right now, I have no one else lined up. Jim Wilde and I had briefly discussed his doing a presentation. I have yet to reach out to him.
I would like to do a showcase and code walk-thru of my own work. But, I'm not sure that I'll be ready for October.
Any one else itching to share? As you can tell from previous presentations, we are quite civil.
casual walk through of xdebug...
I was thinking of just doing a casual walk through of xDebug and just general useful nix-ish tidbits that help me out (configuration of your setup, etc.)
Did we ever post that list of presentations we all want to see?
I think I'll be fine to do it for October, its not going to be too formal.
xdebug would be great
Presenting on dev environment setup would be great. If you can throw in how you use SimpleTest or if you use a different unit testing framework that would be even better.

testing frameworks
I haven't much to say about testing frameworks, except they're great! :)
-- I may have just successfully conned a friend who recently joined us ( just do to selenium work) to come to this meet-up and present (as a dual-presentation thing, I do a short piece, he does a short piece).
testing frameworks
That would be great. I've used Fitnesse and Selenium with Rails and Java but have been struggling to get SimpleTest working well since I assumed it was the preferred way and worked better when developing on Drupal. I'm very interested in why and where you switch to Selenium, e.g., SimpleTest is so slow vs. Selenium, and what you use to organize your Selenium tests, e.g., I always used Fitnesse.
Mike Vogel
IDE?
Which IDE will you use with your presentation on xdebug?
I'm currently using netbeans.
not sure
I think I'll probably use both vim and netbeans, to get a few (other) points across. It don't think it'll make a difference though, for those following :)
It'll make a difference for
It'll make a difference for me. I prefer working with images, drag'n'drop, etc.
FYI
Hi,
We will need to use the computer lab that night for a while, since there is a meeting scheduled int he conference room till 8:30. We can use it after the meeting is over.
meeting scheduled in the conference room
It's too bad, kaw3939, that there is a meeting scheduled in the conference room during our NNJ Drupal meeting. The conference is the preferred location for our meetings.
Is there a way we can avoid this in the future? Is there another conference we could use when the main one is not available?
No
Yes, the conference room is preferred but it will be available after 8:30. There are no other rooms that I have access to and this will just be something that we need to deal with now and in the future, if it happens again.
Hello!
I am part of the Computer Science Club at Brookdale Community College. I plan to bring about 4 to 5 people with me to the Meeting. I just wanted to make sure that would be alright.
Thanks!
attendees have to sign up- full names necessary
This is a public group, so all are invited. However, its being hosted on NJIT's campus and we are all required to click the "signup" button on this page and make sure that our full names show up, not just our nick names. Take a look at the "signups" tab on this page to see what I mean.

Case Study: adidas Moves Pulse
Randall,
if you're still willing to present the adidas Moves Pulse website for next week (13 October), I'll put you down on the schedule. Thanks.
Until November...
Condo Association meeting tomorrow night, hopefully talking a bit about the web site in development.
Will see you folks next month.

Parking?
I think I signed up previously but I didn't include my real name (Mike Vogel). Is there still room and is there an alternative for parking if I'm not 'signed-up'.
Mike Vogel
globallyunique, you can still
globallyunique, you can still add your real name to your profile on Groups.Drupal.
kaw, our host, works off of the signed up list.
Otherwise, there is street parking.
Real Name Display
I've always had my real name in my profile but I don't see how to cause it to be displayed. Any suggestion on what I need to do?
Mike Vogel
Just a guess
It looks like the real name is now set by the master profile on Drupal.org.
Trying doing a refresh: edit and save.
I just changed my real name slightly on the Drupal.org. The change appeared on groups.drupal.org.
See you all tomorrow night!
See you all tomorrow night!
signup
I wasn't able to get my name to show up. I though it was perhaps because the signup didn't refresh after it was completed. So I canceled my signup and was going to signup again and see if my name appeared but signups are closed now. I'm assuming I'm on my own for parking but that I can still attend even though I accidentally canceled my signup and can't signup again?
Mike Vogel
Try it one more time.
Try it one more time.
Try it again.
Sign-up is closed at 1:30 when I saw your mail?

ggaaaahhh
2-people/square foot on a train is not a cool way to travel.
slides for xdebug presentation
for anyone interested, attached are the (half-done) slides for the presentation.
xDebug_CLI_Chops.pdf - https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B61bPXQ61mAFMTJjOTM4YWEtNDBhMS00NmQ...
Tom if you can download this file and then upload it as an attachment to the main part of this page, that'd be awesome. Otherwise, I'll probably eventually accidentally delete this google doc.
