Hi, everyone.
I am going ahead with holding next week's meeting. If Keith, our NJIT host, is available, the meeting will be at NJIT. Otherwise I will hold the meeting at an alternative location.

any plans on talks?
It seems we have a number of people that are newb enough, it may be worthy to do a local environment setup. I can give a talk/walk-through basic layout of apache and comfort with local configuration with folks. Anyone interested in this?
Any one else know of plans for presentations, thus far?
newbie here
I'd be happy to learn about local configuration setup.

I'd like to present on amazon web and drupal
I'd like to present on amazon web services and drupal. I can show new people how to install and even let them install it on some aws instances.
apache and amazon
Jonathan, Keith, you're on.
I'll put you two down for presentations for Dec 8.
Will we have access to both rooms?
I was considering showcasing a website. But that can wait until January.
Does anyone have any preferences? Would anyone else like to present?
We should
Yes
cool - - i don't think its necessary to split them
Hey, I think my presentation will be rather short. I only plan to walk through the basic config of vhosts which I think is the only thing that's confusing when you're trying to develop in a local environment.
Unless anyone wants to hear about some other aspect of server/config (eg.: iptables), I think mine will really be a solid QUICK break down of vhosts for local dev and how to do it cleanly.
vhosts are important for
vhosts are important for local dev, so you can work on more than one site at a time - and it is a short topic, but important
I asked about how to have multiple sites on local dev at the November NYC DUG, and comments about vhosts pointed me in the right direction
¿ are you netsperienced ?

I'm bringing my Toughbook
I'm bringing my Toughbook CF-29 running Ubuntu Linux - a classic laptop - and Lanny will be helping configure wifi for Linux - if we have extra time it might be a fun group exercise - I'd like to enable the touchscreen driver but everytime I try I get a blank screen
