OMG-Kieran & The Top Drupal Shops At SandCamp.org
Drupal is rapidly becoming THE Web development framework for companies today. We cordially invite you to a Drupal workshop, SandCamp 2011, on Saturday, January 8th and Sunday, January 9th. We are expecting more than 300 attendees this year and we anticipate selling out in just a few weeks.
This camp is excellent for developers, business owners, CIOs, developers, and those who maintain a Drupal website for their company. Some of the highlights include:
• Keynote by Kieran Lal: one of the most highly regarded people in the Drupal arena. Kieran is active in Drupal.org, a Drupal Association Board Member, and lead community evangelist for Acquia. Hear what he has to say about the growth and evolution of Drupal as an Enterprise platform.
• For Beginners: Drupal Basics All-Day Training, professionally delivered by Chapter Three and Exaltation of Larks will educate attendees on the core Drupal framework, reveal best practices, and present “how-to” essentials.
• For Advanced Developers, Sunday Code Sprint: to build a museum dashboard for Balboa Park Online Collaborative’s museum initiative.
• 30+ Workshop Sessions by Notable Firms: on a wide range of topics. This year’s event has more than 20 of the major Drupal shops from around the country presenting high-caliber information for all levels.

Hi Everyone! :D
Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that I'm coming to LA as part of the Drupal 7 tour I'm doing with Lullabot. We'll be at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel on January 21st and 22nd. It's a 2-day seminar aimed at getting Drupalers up to speed on Drupal 7. We'll be covering new features, configuration, theming, module development, API changes, and upgrading your sites to Drupal 7. Now that D7 is out, we want to make sure that you don't get left behind. By the end of this seminar, you'll be ready to start building sites with the latest and greatest version of Drupal.
If you're planning on going to DrupalCon in March, this seminar will help you get more out of the event by getting you up to speed with the version of Drupal that everyone will be talking about. If you won't be making it to Chicago, this is a great way for you to keep up with Drupal without needing to travel.
Registration is $395 for the 2 days and includes breakfast and lunch on both days. Register before Tuesday (the 11th) and we'll throw in a “Webchick Tour” t-shirt for free. We're doing a lot of work to make this a really great event with lots of really useful information and I hope you'll all be able to make it! :)

At the end of this one-day class you'll have a completed Drupal site, which looks and functions a lot like many sites you'll see on the web today.

Read moreA challenge to the Los Angeles Drupal community!
In a previous thread, I mentioned my challenge to the Los Angeles Drupal community about ways for all of us to help both presenters & organizers alike avoid the dreaded 'B' word- burnout. I detail ways that we all, as a community, can step it up- which we need to do since word has come down from the LA Drupal Managers that only the Westside meetup is the "official/main" meetup & that they won't be providing official, logistical/managerial support for all of the other local groups that have sprung up in the last year (& are thriving!).
