linux server / dev environments, opensuse and others
I started writing an OpenSUSE tutorial for drupal: http://drupal.org/node/1180202
What I want to do is get feedback and develop a template/checklist to follow to make sure no important information is left out of a server config.
So far I have these categories some of which are not written on the above page yet:

OpenLayers Module Parting Note
Hey OpenLayers Module users & developers,
So, you probably have heard that Development Seed isn't doing Drupal for products or projects anymore - it's been quite a few months since I've actually started up Drupal.
Read moreSVN Set up
Hi,
I am setting up a new Drupal site. As far as SVN goes I am looking at the best practices. how existing SVN structures have been modeled. I am thinking of just having the sites folder in the SVN but am open to suggestions. Also how did you create the branches - Split between two thoughts - One to have each release as a branch and the other create a separate branch for module / theme / scripts / files.
I am looking at various options and looking forward for some advice.
Thanks!
Read moreVideo design variable considerations
I've recently finished a big video project, hoping to be the next big YouTube. I'm hoping they are too. In the process I encountered a host of different challenges as you do with any new project. I thought I'd share some of the critical success variables back with the community. Hopefully, I'll help you avoid some of the growing pains I suffered through.

How do you build sites, what are your favorite tools? I wrote down a few thoughts on my blog yesterday. I'd like to hear what your modus operandi is; feel free to add to this thread.

Hello,
I am looking to get into the publishing business by starting my own classifieds for my hometown. I wanted to start an online/print classifieds, but I could not find any suitable Drupal classifieds module... the only one out there is really simple and just won't cut it. I just wanted to post, and see if there are any others with resources (programming talent, funds), who were also looking for something similar.
October 2010 SDDUG presentation videos
These were last minute recordings, so pardon the low production values. Hopefully the audio and video are clear enough to get some value from these terrific presentations. Feel free to respond with constructive comments; I'll do my best to improve over time.

We will be creating the new Multotec Group website (Phase 1) with development starting early next week. The Design and Development Team is MediaSourceStudio out of Benoni headed by Shaun Richardson. We will send a link to the live development blog attached to the site once it's active. The idea is to post the development framework and elicit comment so that the DrupalZA community can see the site being developed as it happens.
It may be a good chance to see a site being developed from the ground up. If you would like to participate in the blog, feel free to logon next week.

Hello,
For your coding pleasure, we present: Quickstart 0.8 (bittorrent link).
Quickstart is a downloadable virtual machine, containing a pre-configured Ubuntu Linux PHP development environment. Develop and debug LAMP natively, on any computer, without hassle.
QS 0.8 includes updates and bug fixes to QS 0.7. If you're already using QS 0.7, below is a script that will make the bug fixes.
QS 0.8 was also used to make the HOWTO videos on the Quickstart YouTube channel: step debugging, performance profiling, simple email debugging, etc.
What's next for the project? Not quite sure, but I'd love some feedback on how it's being used, and what features or HOWTO videos would be useful.
I hope you find it useful, and thanks for whatever you do for open source,
Mike
