This month we will be talking about using jQuery Mobile to build a custom Drupal theme and Drupal 7 FAPI's #states which allow you to do some dynamic behaviors in a form without writing a line of javascript. Come to the Ninjitsu Web Development office on the 5th floor.

With Drupal, you can build a website which allows for easy content updates, incorporates features from a vast array of community-developed add-ons, and is sufficiently scalable to accommodate the needs of the large organization. The Intro to Drupal class at AcademyX will prepare you to harness Drupal's powerful capabilities to build a Drupal site with interactive forums and online polls, manage an ongoing flow of new site content, and use the extensive set of Drupal themes to give your site the right look and feel.

Last meet up we talked about universal design and how CSS media queries and responsive design could change how you create a Drupal theme. Take a second and consider the following:

The idea of adding more code-adding more to download-in order to optimize for mobile should be the first clue that it might not be the best solution.

I plan to cover: Drupal mobile approaches (brief overview), contrib themes you can use (and sandboxes), how to build your own mobile first theme. Roll up your sleeve because we plan to dig into some code and show how these themes work.

Matt Chapman (matt2000) will be giving a talk about EntityFieldQuery in Drupal 7 and we are open to community lightning talks so come out.
