triDUG

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Only local images are allowed. Our mission is to connect Drupal users in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and surrounding areas. We get together monthly for presentations, site demonstrations, and hack nights. Our goal is to help new Drupal users get up to speed, foster the development of existing Drupal designers and Developers, and contribute to the larger Drupal community. The Research Triangle has a big concentration of technical folks, universities, and start-ups and we want to expose as many people as possible to Drupal and all that it offers.

December Meeting - Virtual Style

First... let me cry "Mea Maxima Culpa".. Between Thanksgiving holiday, family stuff, work, and other stuff, I totally dropped the ball on getting the December meeting in Durham scheduled. I apologize to all for not getting this together..

So, the next "in person" meeting of TriDUG will be in January (probably Durham). But rather than bag the meet up altogether, I thought we could do a "virtual" meetup, using some of the ideas suggested by Allen Freeman.

Drupal Developer ABC | XYZ

Vague double-job posting from a new GDO member with no prior experience, no profile information and a generic gmail contact.

Stuck contact form

Could someone help shed some light on an issue I am having with a site? The contact page keeps getting stuck and displaying the message "you cannot send more than 2 messages per hour", yet I have never sent a message from the form. It shows up on different computers and appears to be displaying the message for anyone who tries to "contact" the site using the standard contact form. I can go in and flush the cashes, and it clears the message and displays the contact form.

Community Cultivation Grant for Drupal Intro Class or DrupalCamp?

Is anyone working on applying for a Community Cultivation Grant for a Drupal Intro Class or possibly a RDU DrupalCamp with me?

When Allen and I priced out offering a free Drupal Intro Class a couple of years ago, we weren't able to make the class pay for itself without charging more than we felt comfortable with. But, since Drupal has really taken off in the past year, it seems like we might want to consider offering it again or hosting a small DrupalCamp. Thoughts?

Great September Meeting

Thanks to the organizers and all the participants at last night's meeting. I enjoyed the "Dissect the Site" session. Perhaps we can do that more often. It can be just as enlightening to understand the WHY, not just the HOW of building a site.

Show default block in a region

I'd like to have a specific block show in a region if there is no theme > block specified for that region. Notzach recommend the Context module, but that might be overkill for this single use case.

Here's the scenario:
I'm using the genesis theme, and the region is "secondary_content". This region will always have one block, the superfish menu block. The balance of available menus will be determined by settings on my theme's block page.
