I'm just wrestling with setting up subversion for the first time (slightly ashamed to admit to having put it off for so long) and thought this would be an interesting topic for a community skillshare afternoon one weekend, or perhaps an upcoming meetup.
Does anyone have any interest in either learning about this, or sharing their knowledge?
I could explain the basics, and talk people through setting up a client on a PC (Tortoise) and using one of the free SVN repositories (springloops), but would be pretty unhelpful when it came to setting up a client on a Mac, setting up your own SVN repository on a server, doing advanced SVN repositories for multi-site installations, or carrying out SVN from the command line.
From the lack of chat on Drupal NYC I'm guessing people are pretty Drupalled out after the camp, so if it's too soon, this could wait. If there were less than 20 or so people that wanted to come I could host it at Green Map in the East Village.
Any thoughts?

Sounds cool! Deppending on
Sounds cool! Deppending on when this will happen i am willing to share my command line on a mac experiences with SVN.
My experiences are so far limited by what i actually had to accomplish till this day, which i would go as far as clasifying this a 'real world experience'.
I am very eager to hear how people use this in their multisite installations, etc.

Depending on the date I surely will come. I'll be moving to NY in the next months as freelance (Drupal/Java) developer and would be happy to share some knowledge on the NY events :)

I would definitely be
I would definitely be interested in this and could bring a little real world experience to it. I use it with eclipse on a mac at work (I set up the server for it on linux) and have yet to set it up on my local net (never enough time), also linux.

Sounds like a plan
It looks like there's enough interest to make this worth doing. I like Oleg's suggestion of doing this as a birds of a feather session at the next meetup, so shall we plan on doing that?
