Thursday May 7th at Zivtech, 1511 South Street., Philadelphia.
Core Patching Fest: This is a day/evening for Drupal developers and site builders who want to start helping in the core issue queue, for experienced contributors who would like to help novice patchers and get their patches reviewed, and just for everyone in our area who wants to take some time to help make a better Drupal 7 or become a better Drupal contributor and coder.
For those new to the core queue we can help one another use CVS to make and apply patches and better understand the workflow of the core queue and how to review patches. We can help find suitable issues to work on for people at all levels (non-coders with a good basic Drupal understanding can also contribute a lot to the core queue).
Come by anytime between 5 - 9pm.

Sounds good!
Sounds interesting, definitely something I'm interested in. I will do my best to be there!
I've been wanting to get involved in patching (making and reviewing patches) and could use an experienced hand to show me how to go about it.
I guess all we need to bring is a laptop and the enthusiasm to learn and do?
thanks

Everyday is Core Patch Day!
Although I won't be able to physically make it, I hope to participate in the core patch writing/reviewing! Will you guys be on #DrupalNYC during the meet?
would I be too annoying?
Thanks -- would it be appropriate for me -- I "patch" things right now for my own purposes by trial and error without really knowing what I"m doing and forget what I did etc. I would never try to contribute at this point but maybe eventually. Let me know if I should wait for something for people like me.
Yes to all
@einsteinsboi: yes all you need is a laptop. If you're new to patching it would be good to try to install CVS ahead of time if you can.
@Rob: Good idea. We can do that.
@Jenny: Yes, definitely appropriate for you. If we can help one person move forward along the hacking/patching continuum it will be a success!
thanks!
It turns out I can't make it this time but I'm going to try to push myself at home!
Time change: 5-9pm Thursday
We need to push back the time a little bit, so start at 5pm or as soon as you can make it over.
Sorry for the late notice,
Sorry for the late notice, but I'm not going to be able to make it tonight. Have fun!
