upgrade gives missing blocks: table 'watchdog' was not locked with LOCK TABLES query?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello,
Looking for some input on a problem if anyone has an idea off the top of their head.
I've tried upgrading a test version of my site from drupal 4.7 to drupal 5.1 several times now. Each time, the update.php script stops about halfway. Then I have a site that seems to be working fine except it doesn't show any columns on the side (left or right), meaning no blocks. When I hit admin/build/block, this is what I get...(see below)
Any idea what I can do to fix this? The message i get on the block admin page is Greek to me....

Warning: Table 'watchdog' was not locked with LOCK TABLES query: INSERT INTO watchdog (uid, type, message, severity, link, location, referer, hostname, timestamp) VALUES (1, 'php', 'Unknown column 'title' in 'field list'\nquery: INSERT INTO blocks (module, delta, theme, status, weight, region, visibility, pages, custom, throttle, title) VALUES ('aggregator', 'category-7', 'pushbutton', 0, 0, 'left', 0, '', 0, 0, '') in /home/warshoot/public_html/warshooters/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 172.', 2, '', 'http://www.warshooter.net/admin/build/block', 'http://www.warshooter.net/admin/build', '72.80.123.238', 1173024809) in /home/warshoot/public_html/warshooters/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 172

Hiya, I think you want the drupal support forums. Your problem will get a lot more attention. This group is more for networking and discussing meetups, drupal events, consulting in NYC, etc.

Just head to the Mothership http://drupal.org and click Support

Thanks
