Brief description
So you just spent months building a beautiful, usable site. But how usable is it for the content administrators? Did you spend any time at all thinking about how you're site would be used on the back-end?
In this session I will discuss some useful techniques for building functional admin interfaces and tailoring those interfaces to your specific use-case. While this is a usability session, it is not design-related.
Agenda
- Using Views Bulk Operations
- Using Draggable Views
- Demos
- Review of admin themes
- What else would you like to see?
About the Presenter

Media Management
If you've got time, it would be great to demo the Media module. One of the most asked questions by people looking at Drupal is something like "Does it have the image association thing that WordPress has?"
One other area would be customizing the Node Edit form. Showing how to have items in a right region (like save / delete / etc) to reduce the need to scroll for quick edits.

I like the idea. I'm curious
I like the idea. I'm curious if you know what admin themes you're going to be discussing? I like Development Seed's Rubik but because of its lack of regions I find myself using AdaptiveTheme admin theme a lot more.
Looking forward to this presentation.
Yes, me too (and thanks for the tip Eric)
I've used rubik and admin module, but didn't know about the adaptivetheme admin theme - will have to take a look.
RootCandy
One of my favorite themes is RootCandy for an administrative theme... Just thought I'd throw it out there.
While site-building/intermediate
I think this might have considerable appeal to people who may not have extensive drupal skills, but are interested in getting insight re how they/their organization would want to configure their drupal work environment.
I have learned a tremendous amount by attending monthly meetings and DCNYC6&7 - where often people presented on topics that were above well above my skill level.
On a regular basis I've noticed that we get people showing up at the 7WTC meetups who are working-for or otherwise involved/potentially-involved in the development or migration of pretty large scale projects.
These people may not have extensive drupal experience, but they often have CS degrees or substantial hands-on experience in IT or extensive coding/development backgrounds - when they hit the ground running they'll want as good a development environment as possible - anything that you can share re building that would be a big plus.
My 2cents.
Roger, I 'd love to go to this, and only hope that it doesn't conflict with something else I've been hoping to attend.
Panel Discussion
I probably do not have a full hour's worth of content for this session. But given the interest and talk in the comments, I wonder if I should open this up as more of a panel discussion. I have quite a bit to offer, but I'm sure others will have quite a bit to offer as well.
If anyone would care to help with this session, as part of a panel or just as a co-presenter, let me know.
What do you have so far?
Then if someone has other techniques they'll know that it will make sense for them to join the panel...
I think a panel would be great if a few different approaches are shown.
when will u discuss?
