Unfortunately the waiting list is now closed - there were so many people on it that there wasn't any chance of more people getting moved to the attendee list.
Some people were moved from the wait list to the attendee list (I'm not sure of the exact number, I wasn't involved). If you were moved you will have received notification via Eventbrite.
I'm sorry you're missing out on the camp. As I've said to other people that missed out this time, we're hoping to organize another camp later this year, as well as potentially some low-cost training days. There's also a Drupal Camp Connecticut that's just been announced for the end of August, and rumors of something in New Jersey... And there are always the regular meetups in NYC, New Jersey and Connecticut.
We increased the number of attendees from 175 last time to 345 this time, and announced the event several days before opening it up for registration. Despite this the event did sell out within a couple of weeks. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this next time around, please feel free to sign up to the organizer's list and get involved with the next one! https://lists.mayfirst.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/drupalcampnyc
Our venue required the final list last week so substitutions are no longer possible.
Three blast emails were sent to all the attendees registered asking them to cancel if they couldn't make it so our best efforts were put into converting unused spots to waitlist registrations. I'm sorry it didn't make it to you and hope you can come next time.
I replied to one of the email blasts saying that I couldn't attend, and I didn't get a response. I followed up again asking for confirmation, and still didn't get response. I'd love for someone to be able to take my spot, and would feel badly if it went unused.
Unfortunately we didn't get your cancellation in time to remove you from the list - the list had to go to the venue a week ahead of the event. Thanks for trying though.
i haven't booked my bus tickets from boston yet, and was wondering if it was possible for there to be some location in the conference venue where i could keep one piece of luggage on sunday so i could head to the bus terminal directly from there?
There's no secure place to leave luggage unfortunately - it's a university campus.
There's a Marriott hotel across the road - you could probably pretend to be a guest and leave it there :)
Hi Winston & friends
I can't tell whether I'm registered or not. I did get a confirmation from Eventbrite, but I don't think my name could have been on the list provided to NYU. Can anyone check for me? I am Elena Grossman, drupal user elenagrossman, email elena (dot) grossman (at) yale (dot) edu. I work at the Yale Center for British Art & I'm building the site NOW-- really really really need to get some Drupal in my brain before the next camp. Thanks
To anyone monitoring this thread. We had a hard deadline of July 16th (last Friday) morning to provide the final list to our venue.
If anyone found a way to make a substitution on Eventbrite or otherwise after that date please note that it is not valid and your name will not be on the security list at our venue.
Please don't ask the organizers to violate the rules of our venue.
I'm sorry if that comes off as harsh, but quirks of the eventbrite user interface don't override the clear rules given to us by our host. This deadline was communicated to the attendee list multiple times with requests to cancel if someone could not attend. We were able to offer a significant number of spots to the waitlist as a result.

Waiting list
Have any people actually been moved from waiting list to the attendee list? I live and work in NYC and I'm gutted that I'm missing this.
