OP, Feeds, OpenCalais and Semantic Proxy

I had used the D6 with separate modules for opencalais and feeds for aggregation of my feeds.

Recently I jumped in for OP stock version OpenPublish-2.3-Build441 and set up the test site. There are a few issues related to above.

The feed content type is missing
(is that right or I missed something?)
I do not see Social tags and Semantic Proxy option in Calais Node processing options?
(I wonder if the same module in D6 provide me with semantic proxy, why i dont see it in OP, has the calais module been changed?)

Any clues to the above.

theme_item_list function

I want to replace the theme_item_list() function which exist in includes/theme.inc with my own function with some modifications. Where i must place my own function? In template.php or elsewhere?

Hello all,
I am wondering if this would be the kind of installation appropriate for a Poetry Magazine site. I don't know how much "news" there is in this area though.
I had thought of something for another site but I might need something more like Tattler. I don't know if OP is intended for presenting content that is pulled in from the web, from blogs, wikis, social platforms, and maybe based on certain key topic areas.

How can I remain a member of groups but without having to receive an email for each discussion posted? I can't find anything in the settings to stop receiving emails.

custom content panes + content keywords + openpublish

I am attempting to use a "custom content pane" to create a menu for pages, where the menu links change depending on which page they are on.

On CITY1 page, the menu item Research links to topic-hub/CITY1/research.
On CITY2 page, the menu item Research links to topic-hub/CITY2/research.

So if I can find the correct "content keyword" to use, one custom content pane would serve all cities.

In an attempt to figure out which context variable might work, in overkill mode I placed the following into a custom content pane:

Hi there,

Since a few weeks I have been playing around with OpenPublish and I absolutely love it.

I am (together with my teammates) building web app that allows users to enter data about their life which they can then see in a graph on a dashboard and/or share online. A mobile application will be integrated with it too (probably through the Services API).

At the basis of this web app lies a basis of about 200 written articles and over 200 video's. That is why I figured OpenPublish could be useful.

My question is:

I have installed OP with German as the default language and tried to create translations of existing content, but can't find out how to. I'm missing the usual translate link.

Any news on OP's upgrade to D7?

Has anyone heard any news on OPs upcoming upgrade to D7? I last heard that an alpha release was to come out in March. Obviously the great guys at Phase2 have been busy with OpenPublic, so the slight delay is totally understandable.

I'm planning a project that should be started in June, so I hope OP D7 is functional by then!

User submissions

Im looking at using open publish for a new site and am wanting it to accept user submissions for blogs, articles and media but as far as i know i can get this done with permissions but when i try and make a post as a normal user it uses the admin background/area for the submission, where as i would like this to be handled on/at the front end of the site, the same area type that the user does to login/out and change their profile.
Does any one have any suggestions on how i can accomplish this? or am i missing something?

Best practices for news images

I am looking for best (available) practices to manage images for news. Is essential for news images to be reused some times. Does someone find a way to reuse images and arrange them in galleries?
I want to upload images, arrange them in galleries and be able to attach them to articles multiple times?

For now the closest I found is “IMCE file browser”, but it’s very basic way.
There are no thumbnails no description for pictures, only preview when you select the picture.

Someone found a way?

Removing breadcrumb links

Hi all,

Im currently using openpublish with its own menu system. I know it loads openpublishmenu.js and you have to add it to the template as it comes, which is something like:

 print theme('openpublish_menu', $expanded_primary_links); 
?>

(I wont paste the entire code, you can see it in the page-header.tpl.php) Anyway, Im trying to add target _blank to several items, so i installed the menu attributes module (http://drupal.org/project/menu_attributes) but since openpublish prints the menu with its own method, it does not work, the target _blank does not appear.

Sidebars just disappeared

My <front> page sidebars just disappeared -- will not display at all anywhere on the page. This is both in my subtheme and in the out-of-the-box Openpublish theme, which I have never touched. Please help!

Wait...I have a clue, the body class now is <body class="no-sidebars front-page front logged-in page-front no-sidebars" > Aha! Where do I set this???

openPUBLISH on Drupal7

How are you? I am from Bangladesh. I like openPUBLISH. Its have a great feature. Its good for News Publish.

Now i need to know, when openPUBLISH move Drupal6 to Drupal7? Drupal7 is also nice and more fast then Drupal6.

I install it my VPS (1GB ram) on nGinx web server.
