DASA Slogan, Mission and Vision
DASA needs to initiate a discussion and have as full a participation as possible in identifying who we are and what we stand for. To this end I have penned a slogan, mission and vision statement as I see the organisation from a hobbyist point of view and where I would like to influence our growth and development. I encourage the DASA members to amend or replace these statements based upon your interpretation of who we are and where you want us to traverse.
Here goes:
Slogan:
Advancing Drupal one webmaster at a time.
Mission Statement:

While I do still receive some encouragement about this, it's been a year and the DASA affairs are so much more rewarding and unrelated that I'd like to put my full support and limited time behind that without having to think or worry about the two domains and their continues commercial hijack.

Perhaps because we work so much with so many people in other countries, I'm faced too often with conservative mores and of late it's become more prevalent; So much so that I'm faced with levels of bigotry that's becoming a bit too much to bare quietly.

Hello All,
So this topic may be a bit redundant but just in case you missed it, DASA's GitHub repo is up and sharing issue queues, documents and the like.

Agendas only has two agendas in it right now, the one past (last week) and the one upcoming (next month). We use the agendas themselves for notes too so that they then become the minutes for the meetings.
Feel free to open issues or participate otherwise and raise topics you may want us to address at the next meeting.

Hey guys,
Sorry for multiple posts in one day, but I'm trying to catch up a bit and want to at least complete November 2013's agenda's minutes today.
Here's a topic on swag (stickers, pins, shirts, caps and the like) for 2014. Please join and add your comments and ideas to the issues.
Maybe we should sponsor anyone who would like to have a Drupalicon tattooed ;-)
Here's the issue: https://github.com/DrupalAssociationSA/InternalDocumentation/issues/4

Hello Everyone,
From our agenda 2013-11 we speculated on membership fees for DASA. We hoped to make it both affordable down to the individual level and optionally also to give an opportunity to support DASA through membership (as apart from donations).
This issue is purely for comment, no decisions have been made yet.

Those of you who know me from Drupal JHB meet-ups will know already how passionate I am about these privacy issues, people's personal privacy, security and so on... so you wouldn't be surprised if I don't just urge you to raise your voice in that topic, but to actually urge you to express support for Drupal to participate. Please.

The Drupal Association of South Africa (DASA) is in need of a corporate identity and would like to get everyone in our creative community involved by making an open call for donated CI submissions. The CI will be used in our official documentation as well as all marketing related material.
We don’t want to be too prescriptive but here are some guidelines for the the CI. The logo should be:
- In line with to Drupal corporate identity
- Distinctly South African
- Simple ( The logo has the be embroidable, not an image)

Hi
I am an amateur designer. I've been tasked with redesigning the website for the school where I work.
Most of the site is ready for launch, developed purely using drupal modules and themes.
However, there is one area of the development that is very technical, and this is where I am struggling, because I have around zero coding knowledge.
Is there perhaps anyone who would be willing to assist me with the coding stuff?

At the last DASA meeting a few topics were raised that need addressing. Thanks to Monique and Richard for highlighting them for us. Here's some of my take on these matters, feel free everyone to jump in with more explanations or questions and to correct me if needed and/or with your own take on these matters:
What's DASA?

As another year of Drupal meetups draw to a close, to everyone involved.. the jesters, snack makers, beer bringers, insightful speakers and the attendees, thank you.
This was a very successful year and we could see the group grow by leaps-and-bounds. This year we took a slightly different approach to the meetups, utilising a project(Agora) for structure and still allocating enough time for the controlled chaos of the usual un-conference session. We covered allot of topics including:
- Project Management: Agile and SCRUM

Hello Everyone,
Drupal 6 sites are becoming a little old now, but Drupal is very popular and many site owners have web properties that are quite extensive. Massive, in fact.
If these sites are to remain online and well looked-after, we need people prepared to maintain them.

DASA Casual Donations
Hello Everyone.
As always, feel free to comment and especially reasoned disagreement is very welcome! We serve you remember. Don't bottle up, pour it out ;-)
This is probably not a terribly divisive topic, but in the interest of keeping things very open and clear to everyone while also facilitating easy processes, we discussed the issue of casual donations at our last meeting.
