After-camp drinks
Thanks to Zivtech, we have sponsorship for drinks after the camp. I've not spent much time in the neighborhood around the Poly, so am looking for help to choose a bar. Does anyone have any recommendations for a bar that's within walking distance of the Poly and can handle a few dozen people?
Here's a list to start from: http://bit.ly/5GDmcM
If I don't get any feedback I'll probably go ahead and speak to the people at Cody's or O'Keefes. I'm not a fan of sports bars, but it sounds like they'd have the space to accommodate us.

DrupalCampNYC7 is rapidly approaching, and there are still a few things that we need help to organize. One thing that we need is a bar to convene at after the camp. Zivtech have kindly sponsored $301 worth of drinks, so we need to find a nearby bar that can accommodate a few dozen geeks and figure out a fair way to distribute the free booze. Sign up for this and other tasks below. It's a wiki, so anyone can edit and update. To get involved further, please also join the organizer's mailing list. Lots of discussion is happening there about whether to have T-shirts, whether to look for more sponsorship for drinks, and much more.
Thanks again to everyone that's helped out already. See below for the tasks:

DrupalCampNYC 7 Kickoff Party
As the organizer of the DrupalNYC Happy Hour, I've taken it upon myself to organize the DrupalCampNYC 7 Kickoff Party. Our gracious hosts at the House of Brews will be hosting the party and providing appetizers. For those of you who have not attended the DrupalNYC Happy Hour, House of Brews has an incredible beer selection, including gluten-free and organic options.

Organizers list for DrupalCampNYC7
A few of us started the planning last night at the meetup and on IRC for DrupalCampNYC7. Robbie is checking out the possible venue dates, but it's looking likely to be late November or early December.
The biggest task in making this happen is gathering sponsorship to cover the cost of the venue and food. We will be sharing this task between us, so if you would like to be involved in this, or any other aspect of organizing DrupalCampNYC7, please join the mailing list at https://lists.mayfirst.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/drupalcampnyc. Some people have had messages from this list go to their spam folder, so check there if you're not getting the emails. The list is just to avoid swamping the groups.drupal.org group with all the messages that will be flying around. Anyone is welcome to sign up for it even if they aren't able to take a large role in organizing.

At the meeting tonight we started the planning process for DrupalCamp7. The date is still TBD but we're looking at the end of November or beginning of December. I volunteered to coordinate assembling a list of sessions and presenters so I'll kick that off here.
If you're interested in presenting a topic or would like to suggest a topic then post a comment on this page. As the date approaches we'll consolidate this into a wiki page to match up ideas and presenters.
