Looking for a place to sleep for DrupalCampNYC

Hi! I'll be visiting NYC from Boston for the DrupalCamp in July, and was wondering if anyone has an extra bed or couch I could crash on, or recommendations for an inexpensive place to stay?

I'd be happy to barter some Drupal training or development time for lodging as well.

Thanks in advance!

Basic beginner site building

Where does one begin? I do see several beginner oriented topics. I created pages, stories, blocks, blogs, forums, etc., individually. I've been looking at views. Should one just go to views to create the previous items? I learn ways to accomplish things and then later discover something else. Drupal keeps moving forward and improving. What are the tools and techniques one should use today?

Can there be a Drupal only focus? I've seen and heard other such discussions but they always get compounded with PHP, CCK, CCS, Javascript...... Are there differences for Windows users?

Theming Content-Rich Sites

As Drupal becomes more popular for media and other content rich sites, the need for fast-loading, highly maintainable and flexible themes becomes paramount. Let's discuss what modules and methods we use to obtain this in our themes. Focus on CSS and other front-end code techniques as well as template.php goodness to keep themes lean. This session will be a quick hands-on how-to overview of the Rules module http://drupal.org/project/rules

More and more modules are including rules support and in my opinion will soon be as common and relied upon as views is now.

In order to show the power of this relatively new module, as well as going over general interface and functionality we will create a simple workflow interface using rules
