DrupalCamp LA 2012 is coming July 28-29, 2012
Mark your calendars for DrupalCamp LA 2012, the weekend of July 28-29, 2012.
What is a DrupalCamp?
DrupalCamp LA is the annual FREE unconference-style Drupal training, founded in the style of BarCamp, for the Drupal community in Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Greater Southern California Area.
Read moreHey is there going to be another boot-camp starting soon at droplabs or elsewhere here in the L.A. area
I was wondering if there was going to be another bootcamp type series like the one that ended a month or so ago at droplabs.
One that is hopefully conveniently located enough for someone living in the South Bay, or maybe West-side, or Droplabs itself?
It's really time that I delved in much deeper :)
Kindest regards,
.

Read moreSFV Car Pool - Drupal Camp LA
Just throwing this out there to see if there are others in the San Fernando Valley area who'd be interested in carpooling to Drupal Camp LA. I plan on driving there in the morning and back during the evening (haven't decided how late - was thinking of just playing it by ear) on Sat. and Sun. So far, I'm currently carpooling with one other person on Sun.

Howdy fellow Drupaleros! Going my way?
Just wondering if anyone will be driving down from LA both days & would like to carpool? I’m close to the 105 FWY where the Blue/Green Lines intersect (basically, smack dab in between the 110 FWY & the 710 FWY), so can go to you if it's easier for you. I’d be glad to chip in for gas, pay for parking or buy ya lunch. :)
Normally, I’d take the train(s) in but MTA.net found zero results for that destination.

FYI LA members:

is where the GDO/la Organizer Block discussion was moved to. There are half a dozen posts already. We need more input before this weekend. Looks like I volunteered to run a BoF this weekend. I just posted the below:
LADrupal should provide an example, like requested, but if our group can not agree, then it turns into several examples. I suspect the example of choice will be to make it go away. I am going to requested of the LA group to provide feedback to my examples. It will take some time.

We discussed the ladrupal.org website at the organizers' meetup today and jromine said he'd like to see a code sprint for ladrupal.org at DrupalCamp LA. Who would like to talk about what, if anything, we want to do with the site and get together at the camp to do it?
There are a number of approaches we could take, from performing security upgrades and doing functional testing and fixes to descoping the site's features and relaunching in Drupal 7 — or completely decommissioning the site entirely and focusing on groups.drupal.org/la instead.

Post your session proposals here. Be sure to mention if you're looking for co-presenters!
Update: Reverse proposals are good, too! If there's something you'd like to see someone else present, you can post your requests and suggestions.
Read moreWho's interested in a "Design for Drupal" conference in Los Angeles in February, 2011?
As one of DrupalCamp LA's lead organizers, my sense is that DrupalCamp LA has moved out of the realm of what a camp is and into the realm of large summits and conferences. I talked a little bit about this in a recent LA DrupalCast episode, and while I definitely thought DrupalCamp LA 2010 was a lot of fun and a moderately successful event, I think DrupalCamp LA occupies a strange place in the spectrum of camps, summits and cons.
If you haven't been to camps other than DrupalCamp LA or if you're wondering what this "Design for Drupal" stuff is, please bear with me and read the entire post and my comments below.
