Join us Tuesday, August 13, 2013 for our monthly gathering to learn, share, and meet others interested in Drupal. This month our meetup will be at Stauffer Inc (map). Come learn all about Drupal!

Are you an entrepreneur, freelancer or remote worker? You don't have to work alone. Join us for another Drupal Coworking Friday at Droplabs, a collaborative coworking space, classroom and makerspace!

We're in Downtown Los Angeles and are happy to host members of our local community and anyone who is just passing through for some coworking, networking and collaboration. We'll be offering the following FREE services to help rock your workday:

• Free parking on Clover St. and N. Main St. and in our large parking lot;
• Free, metered WiFi;
• Desks, chairs and Ergotron mobile workstations in our open coworking room (on a first-come, first-served basis);
• Hundreds of square feet of whiteboard space;
• Use of our private conference room (unless previously reserved);
• Access to our shared lounge area (unless previously reserved);
• Heat / air conditioning.

Droplabs is supported by memberships, donations, sponsorship of our events, venue rental and paid upgrades, including high-speed, unmetered WiFi, access to a full kitchen (with stove, oven, fridges, sinks, etc.), equipment rental, locker space for your belongings and unlimited coffee, tea, filtered water, sodas and espresso.

The 1st Tuesday of the month is coming up again and soon it will time for the next Downtown Drupal meetup! We're meeting at Opodz in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 7-9pm (happy hour at 5pm). Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

At this meetup, we're having our usual news and announcements, as well as raffle prizes, community Q&A, lightning talks (which are short, bite-sized presentations) and featured presentations. We are NOT meeting for July because the same weekend is our big 7th annual DrupalCamp LA event. Free Drupal training Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for attendees.

Camp dates: Friday, July 12th (free training), Saturday, July 13th (free Camp 1st day), and July 14th (free Camp 2nd day).

We'd like members who are volunteering to present at the camp to take the night and prepare. With over 300+ developers each year, DrupalCamp LA is one of the largest open source camps around.

We want to check out what is going on with Drupal 8 as we approach code freeze. We might even get a little contribution in tonight.

The next High Performance Drupal meetup is on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, between 7-9pm Pacific (10-12pm Eastern). We're meeting at Filter Digital, a digital solutions agency in Culver City. Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

Our meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and full-length presentations. As always, we'll also have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks. We'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:00pm.
