We are active! Connect with us on the following channels to chat with other members and learn about our virtual meetups:
Only about 1.5% of the people involved in open source are women, leaving us terribly underrepresented. In the Drupal world, we're up to a whopping 7% 10% 17%, which only gets us to awfully unrepresented. ;) This group is for anyone (male, female, or otherwise) who believes that we can do better and wants to help.
So if you:
- are a woman who needs some help/guidance in order to get (more) involved with Drupal and the Drupal community
- are a woman who wants to network and get to know other women involved in Drupal
- are anyone who has ideas on things we can do to help encourage women to participate in Drupal
...then this is the group for you. :)

This was originally posted in the discussion area: Thanks Jerry and Mike for your suggestion.
First off, this is not a Drupal-specific event. It is for Adobe's new release of CS6, Creative Cloud and their Touch Apps. I recognize some of you are FOSS purists and if this post offends you in some way, please feel free to down-vote it if you want.
On the other hand, I believe other members of the Drupal community use Adobe tools for media creation and may find this interesting.

... actually they've been open for a while, but I kind of forgot to pass on the invitation!
Along with many of the other hats I wear, I also sit on the advisory board of the Ada Initiative. A non-profit focussed on increasing the participation of women in open technology and culture.
Drupal is a leader in this space, with many more women directly participating and taking leadership roles in the project than is usual in other open source and open culture communities.

Make a Drupal t-skirt!
It is really cool that we have "female t-shirt" options now at DrupalCons. Though, with my size/shape, I prefer men's t-shirts. And I have quite a few of those. What I didn't have is a Drupal t-skirt. Until now.
I posted up instructions on how to make a Drupal t-skirt. Though I should get a better photo.

Attention Drupalchix!
I recently recorded a video for the High Visibility Project (http://highvisibilityproject.org/) which is working to collect stories of women in technology. All you need to do is record a video of yourself talking about your tech experiences, upload it to vimeo or youtube and submit it on the site!
If this is your kind of jam, please submit!

I'm using Location module (lastest version) with D7. I need the city field to be associated with a city taxonomy vocab. Not seeing how to do that within Location, and the project page makes reference to some lacking features; not sure whether it is meant to support this or not. (The issue queue has nearly 700 posts, so I won't even bother to ask there.)

Reposting. Hoping one of the ladies will be generous.
Could really use some suggestions - not find solutions within the modules. Maybe overlooking. Preface by saying that I am not a module developer. (And, prefer contrib mods for client best interest as well.)
USE CASE:
Business Directory
FEATURE #1
I want good drill-down filtering of data, so using many exposed filters -- all with multiple value option. Played around with template and CSS solutions, but seemed kludgy and never quite good solution.

Girls in Tech
It would be helpful to have an umbrella website that links to websites and organizations out there for Girls in Tech. Here is my short list at the time. Could you please be so kind as to add to it?
More choices:
www.codeyear.com (teaches JavaScript)
www.KHANacademy.org (teaches Python)

Read moreDynamic Redirects
I'm working on a module that needs to create dynamic redirects. For starters, I've installed the Redirect module, which allows me to create static redirects via the admin panel (and API for further development). I'm finding that although it does redirect to external sites, it only redirects within the current window and I'd like the redirect to occur in a new window. I'm thinking this may require some javascript script as well, but maybe I'm missing something or another module is better suited to my needs.
