What should the NYC Drupal Group do about leadership?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Nominate a new person as leader as Adam no longer has time to devote to the position.

Is it chaos to want real choices?

First- there are at least two questions be asked here: "who should call the meetups?" and "where should the meetups be held?"

Then there is the question of what "leading the group" means, which seems to be unresolved atm.

I've been coming from Jersey to the NYC meetups and recognize that I'm the outlier regarding the 'typical' meetup demographic. Personally, I've found the current location to be perfect for me coming on the train/PATH across the Hudson.

I'm very sorry if the choices do not suit you. The current poll will end in a week.

Members ARE given the option of supporting the process of choosing a new manager.

Feel free to create a new poll that lets members express their opinions about who should call the meetups or where they should be held.

I welcome all efforts that help the group communicate its preferences.

I think Oleg has done a great job of moving the group in the right direction.

It makes sense for him to be in a position to help guide the group since we are freely using resources that are provided by him and FastCompany. He has a direct connection to setting up events at a great location and move things along in a faster manner. All his initiative have been in the groups best interest and he has left them open for discussion. Keep in mind we are one of the largest Drupal Groups around and our actions are looked upon by other groups. We need to be setting a good example and get along with eachother, make good decisions and definitely avoid becoming stagnant like we did last time a heated discussion took place.
