How was this effect done?

I came across this site and this simple, yet cool effect. Can someone explain how this was done? Click on the navigation.

My guess... full width/page carousel?

Thanks,
Joe

Recommendations: Tracking User Behavior

Question - what does the community recommend for a quality service that can track user behavior? Specifically, a comprehensive option that understands Drupal and the layout and can cleanly track as much information as possible. This would include frequency of login, pages viewed, time on the site, node creation, comment creation, etc. I am assuming this is not going to be free, but I'd also like it to not cost into the thousands of dollars per month.

Using UBercart (or other ECommerce) within Drupal Commons/OG for individual users

We are looking to implement a Drupal Commons site where there are different regional groups, as well as Topic Groups.

I want to have a paid subscription service whereas users can have their own store and sell downloadable products.
Ideally to also retain a percentage of said sales.

I have been using Drupal from the beginning, however we are not so used to OG ( organic Groups )

Have meetups organized by topic/area of Drupal?

I would rather see meetups set up around Drupal topics rather than location -- maybe a Developers meetup or one for Themers, or have a meetup about Views or theming views or creating modules or discussions about CCK versus taxonomy or how to use Devel to its max potential, or my current love, mobile/Services connections.

A patching sprint?

I'm fairly certain some of us in the LA community are working on patches for Drupal (both for Drupal Core and for Contrib modules). I am currently doing the same and have noticed that quite a few issues fall by the wayside getting stuck on needs review or needs work (and some of the core developers are genuinely busy working on other (maybe larger) issues to give whatever we're working some TLC).

LA Drupal Governance Proposal

I believe that it is time to examine this group's structure. I would like to suggest that anyone interested in being the sole leader of the group nominate themselves, and that we have an election or elections until one person gets the majority of the votes.

The elected leader would be the decision maker for LA Drupal for the next 12 months (or ???) and could put their name in for reelection if they like. The new leader would oversee the activities of this group and have direct responsibility for the organization of the meeting currently held in Culver City.

A cool jQuery browser width CSS switcher

Check out this sweet little jQuery script I found recently. It switches classes and ID names based on browser width. It's pretty slick and even features a built in debug mode.

Are there Drupal Job Descriptions?

I am reading the Druapl job postings. Granted they are from individual work places, but so many say the same thing, but want something different. Drupal designer, developer, themer, engineer, trainer, etc. Add prefixes like senior, junior, UI, front-end, and usability and things really get complicated.

Is a Senior Themer the same as a Junior Designer? I'm sure someone is getting mad at the suggestion, but I would not know the difference by reading some of these job posts.

Drupal and the crashing server

Hi all,

I have a problem. Yesterday a very large influx of visitors to our site brought down our server! :( After some investigation we noticed that we had about 10K visitors in a 9min span before our server went down. We were told by our tech support that our server requires more memory (currently at 2GB) and to reduce the phpMemory limit (currently at 128MB) as well the the number of maximum Clients served.
