Fun meeting!

Glad I forced myself out of the house to yesterday's gathering at Philippe's. Great to meet and chat with all of you.

Couple of things that I thought of on the way home:

  • Small business resources. Personally, knowledge about starting a business is something I know nothing about. Would love to see some knowledge sharing about how to go about that. Drupal really seems open possibilities for new start ups, etc. Maybe we could start a wiki thread with resources.

shortened agenda for Today's (5/27) meeting

There will be an abridged agenda today.

4.00-4.30

Meet & Greet

4.30-5.00

Q & A on installation and implementation problems.

The group seems to have no problem socializing, so I leave it to this natural tendency to carry this skeleton agenda.

Host for Sunday's meeting neeed

I will not be able to attend Sunday's meeting, and I am sad to announce the visit from the two guests we had planned on is also off.

Hoping someone else can step up to the plate and MC the meeting. I am happy to work on a minor agenda, I think a straight forward meet & greet would suffice, and perhaps two impromptu presentations on projects by those present.

Please advise,

Richard

Recent meetups and agendas

Hey there - just checking to see what's going on in the realm of the various ongoing and/or planned meetups. I'm definitely interested in project oriented working groups - especially those that could lead to some paying $$ gigs and/or other business/partnership opportunities. Any show notes or agendas would be most appreciated.

Cheers!

Online Community Builders Group inching closer to fruition.

Hi all. I created a minimalist Drupal site to serve as a place to discuss the agenda for the first meeting as well as announce the location once I figure out what that will be. I ended up with www.communitybuildrs.com as the domain name. It was one of the less horrific domains still available. Please feel free to create a quick account to join in the discussion and express your interest. I'm really looking forward to sharing our thoughts and ideas.

calling all drupal fans...

hi all, new here and not a programmer. I am pretty sure I've decided on drupal after a lot of research and an article by ibm engineers with their decision to use it and why http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/ibm/library/i-osource1/ Now I’m wondering the best route to reach an interested tech partner for the project preferably in the SoCal area due to working with designers and myself directly.

Socal Online Community Building Group Forming

Hi all. After the meeting Sunday a few of us discovered a common desire to learn more about building communities online and share what works and doesn't. The group will focus on attracting members/participants, holding on to the ones you have, and to a lesser degree on monetizing a community site. (For some communities clearly that isn't appropriate.) The above topics are not Drupal-specific though I expect there will be a certain Drupal bias by default.

Great to see you all!

Just a quick post to say I enjoyed the meeting and it was great to see you all. I can help out with the neighborhood project though I'm not sure what my contribution should be! Hope to see you again on the 27th...

Marc Salvatierra gave a walkthrough of the Drupal installation he is developing for ICANN committees.

Brady Westwater proposed that our Group take up the challenge of creating a distribution for Neighborhood Councils. We accepted. More on that soon.
