Would you pay $10 for a catered lunch at SANDcamp?

We're entertaining the idea of catering a full-on lunch for the second day of SANDcamp in order to support the first official DrupalCamp Documentation Sprint. The sprint is being led by Addison Berry of Lullabot, and it takes place between 10am and 2pm on Sunday. If you're attending SANDcamp in San Diego this coming January 24th and 25th, would you mind voting in the poll we've set up to gauge interest? Thanks.

Did d.o just die?

Did drupal.org just die? I can´t access it at all from various browsers & my connection´s solid. Wondering if it´s downtime for the site redesign or something.

Anyone else able to hit it?

Drupal and Project Management Systems outline and discussion

For today's BDUG (Berkeley Drupal User Group) meetup we had an open discussion about project management methodologies and tools, and layed out a basic plan for what a full featured project management system might look like in Drupal. I know many Drupal development shops each have their own tools for this, many developed internally on Drupal for specific needs.

This document is an initial rough outline, so feel free to suggest changes or other ideas for it.

Here is the wiki page:

And the original google doc:

I live in Venice, CA and I need to get down with Drupal. Any tips for how to start? I just bought the new Android... does that count for anything?

Best,
Catherine

Who do you like for hosting and why

Here is our situation. We have a small site on Burton Hosting. We have had trouble with their customer service and we need to move the completed drupal site to another hosting company. The whole site right now is only 600 mb. We don't expect alot of users. The community we serve is less than 1000. We are looking for a host that has a cpanel (that can be easily accessed without having to log on to your hosting account like godaddy) and great customer service. We tried godaddy and trying to upload the sql database was unsuccessful due to it's size and the limitations of the host.

Video Service Providers

Which video hosting provider do you like, love, can't live without?

Blip.tv is what we have been using for the LADrupal meetings. I like it, have a few clients using it and have used it to share some of my own screencasts.(Free or $80/year for a pro account which gives priority video encoding and some additional features).

Viddler and Vimeo, I havn't used their upload features or anything but I thought their players looked really great.

I'd love to hear others experiences.

Finally, Lord have Mercy -
this cheap Arse finally got his self a Drupal Association Badge!!

THE EURO MUST BE LOW! 'cause ... let's see...

PayPal Total: $28.95 USD
PayPal Conversion Rate as of Oct. 23, 2008: 1 U.S. Dollar = 0.759971 Euros

Just under a mere $30 only for individual member!

Now I'm glad to go put this on my site.

Hoping later on to up it to Organization Member when I make millions. (next week or so.)

CSS Ramblings from Last Meeting Overview and some Links

This is just a quick post on few comments that I briefly mumbled at the last meeting
regarding / theming and someone had mentioned a question of turning a PSD or site design into
an actual Drupal implemented site.

I went through some of my old bookmarks finally and found some bookmarks on previous research
I had done on any insight towards a CSS CORE LIST for Drupal.

I mentioned this to a couple of people regarding a core class list.

For some, having a core class list - this may seem useless.
For me - This is the first thing I'm looking for as a guide.

CS4 Party site launched with Zen Theme

Earlier this week I launched http://cs4party.com to promote the celebration our Los Angeles Adobe User Groups are holding for Adobe. I used Strata 3D, exported to H.264 video which I converted to FLV with Flash CS3, and made a SWF header to play and loop the FLV video. Zen was used entirely, so I have a cs4party sub-zen-theme that is literally my first public Zen theme, ever. FYI, the site is Drupal 6.

Our video channel (provided by Blip.tv) allows us to broadcast our videos in a feed for you, iTunes, Yahoo, and Adobe's Media Player. I've spent some time massaging these settings and we're now live on iTunes under the Podcast section. Subscribe or just feel free to download videos there.

The first videos that are listed are our May 2008 recordings of Scott Nelson covering the Services module and AMFPHP module (four parts).
