Come contribute! The 4th Monday in Long Beach we're holding meetups to coincide with core office hours.

Join us in Long Beach or meet us online in our google+ hangout. The first few meetups have been fantastic! During each we either contributed patches or helped somehow in the process. As a result we've already helped get code committed to Drupal core! Want to help? Can't code? no problem. There truly is something for everyone to do. We'll help teach you.

Join some passionate Drupalers at Droplabs near Downtown L.A. to meet, share, and push one another as we work on our respective projects. While it does not have to be your own startup project that you are working on necessarily, the project should be one in which you're passionate enough to need the support of your fellow Drupalers to motivate you to the end.

Come to the Ninjitsu Web Development office on the 5th floor to learn about using drush, drush make, and custom profiles. Using these tools you can automate sites builds and decrease the work involved in setting up Drupal sites the way you want. Some things we will cover using drush (Yes on Windows too), generating and using make files, developing custom profiles.

After a hiatus of several months, the Santa Barbara Drupal meetup is back! We are meeting in 2 weeks on Tuesday, Feb 28, 2011, at 6:00pm. The meeting is at a brand new location - the Santa Barbara Hackerspace, located at 158 Aero Camino, Suite A in Goleta. Join us!

This event is free and no RSVP is required, but if you plan to attend please do sign up by clicking the Sign up button below. Knowing how many people are interested in attending can help us better select good locations in the future. People who sign up will also have last minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting.

* Early Networking - looking to chat with folks before the meetup begins, this is your chance.

* Main presentation - Ashok Modi & Mike Stewart (both core contributors) will go over in detail the latest contributions their collaborated efforts brought to us all by helping fix Drupal Core!
* Lightning Talks - Drupal Module Crushes + Heartbreaks - come share your latest module crushes! Free "sweethearts" candy for those who do.
* Users Helping Users - bring up a question to the crowd and see how they can help you overcome your latest Drupal roadblock.

NEW OC Drupal MEETUP Event!

For the last 2 months Mike Stewart from Media Done Right has been organizing a well received meetup in Long Beach. I know some of us cannot make this unique Drupal meetup because of the distance.

So we decided to try and add a new monthly event that mimics this meetup directive in Long Beach on the same day. We also plan on using a Google+ Hangout to communicate between the meetups! (is this a Drupal First!?)

We've planned a site visit to Big Art Labs on February 1, 2012, at 4pm, to determine if it will work as the venue for the Drupal Design Camp we're planning for May, 2012.

Does Big Art Labs sound familiar? If you've been to any of the meetups, job fairs, free coworking days or launch parties at Droplabs, then you've already been to Big Art Labs. Please be sure to arrive at Droplabs on time. We will be going on a tour of Big Art Labs' facilities promptly at 4pm.

In the tradition of other site visits that we've gone on, this visit is open to anyone and is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in starting to help organize this event.
