The Media group is the working group for the Drupal 7 File entity module, Media module and all the various modules that extend Media. The Media group is a place for all interested parties to collaborate and discuss anything related to the Drupal Media "ecosystem".

playlist in drupal

Hi,

Anyone can guide me in Playlist similar to Dash player.

i tried installing and configuring dash player.. it did not work for me

i tried using swftools and XSPF playlist.. but it generated the xml file in my folder
but i could not see the playlist.

i tried using the view + flow player integerated
i created two fields in the page. one for thumbnail and another for flv videos

but i could not link both..

can any one guide me.. i am desperately looking for help to make this happen in my site

In the Mustard Seed Media podcast http://www.mustardseedmedia.com/podcast/episode29 Rob said IMCE is the past and that the Media module is the future and that using IMCE for image upload should be abandoned in favor of the upcoming Media module.

While the roadmap and intended featuritis looks great .. I have an important use case which apparently isn't being considered. Namely attaching images and perhaps other media to comments.

It looks like this is only considering adding them to the node, and not to the comments.

I'm a Melbourne-based programmer visiting LA until Sunday, working to migrate a non-profit student media & training site to a new Drupal back-end and building in a lot of video stuff. It's my first Drupal site and on a tiny budget. I'll buy someone lunch or dinner if they offer some help on the basics :-) I've got Drupal installed, themed, and a bunch of modules enabled, but I really want to finesse my solution.

As a result of Transmission network sprint few weeks ago on a farm among beautiful Britain hills we have published a tutorial on Posting video from mobile phones into drupal via email into flash video via Mailhandler and Media mover.

Its still considered Incomplete, as my English is not perfect. Please review, correct and expand, so it will be complete.

AT&T PEG Encoder Technical Specifications

Here below are the current AT&T standards for encoding video for deliver from PEG stations.

Vendors are approaching cities, like Austin, with proprietary systems that will deliver this encoded stream.

I'm wondering about open source solutions for this.

PEG Encoder Technical Specifications

The following minimum requirements and specifications must be configured on the municipality
encoder/streamer in order to comply with AT&T’s IPTV PEG solution.

Video Encoding Standard: Windows Media Video 9/VC-1 Main Profile
Video Streaming Bandwidth: 1.25 Mbps

Problem while implementing Lucene

Hi all,

I am facing the problem while implementing the lucene search in my site. Can any body help me out for the problem. Even i added teh Zend Framwork for Lucene search in drupal site but still i am facing the following error while adding the module of search lucene API.

"The required Zend Framework components of Search Lucene API are not installed. (Currently using Zend Framework components not installed) "

Please comment with your solution and with site from where i can get the components of search lucene API.

Media Sprint at Open Media Camp in Denver!

Make sure to attend the Media Sprint Update Panel and join the Media Sprint 2009 at Open Media Camp in Denver, on April 18-19!

The presenters of this panel, including Aaron Winborn (aaron), Arthur Foelsche (arthurf), and Alex Urevick-Ackelsberg (Alex UA), will discuss the ongoing efforts of the Media Sprint by the Drupal Media working group to bring to fruition the Media module and related work.

This panel will begin with a demonstration and discussion of the current state of the ongoing development of the Media module, and a thorough examination of the concept for its extensible API. Finally, we'll discuss the near and far-term plans, including the Media Sprint planned for the next day of the Open Media Camp.
