The SCALE team has started ramping up towards SCALE 2012 next January.

SCALE 10X (January 20-22) will be the tenth anniversary of the Linux Expo, and we hope to make it a special one! SCALE started 10 years ago with a single day event at USC with two tracks and 400 attendees. Considering that SCALE 10X will be a three day event, with as many as a half-dozen tracks and possibly as many as 2,500 attendees, it's clear that Open Source software is alive and thriving in Southern California!

The High Performance Drupal meetup now meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

Interested in Pressflow, APC, Varnish and memcache? Want to jump from shared or "grid" hosting to VPS or dedicated hosting but aren't sure what to do? Do you just want to get more out of what you currently have and take your Drupal site to the next level?

Meet with friends, have coffee and talk about Drupal performance, scalability and DevOps on the Westside at the Venice Grind between 5-8pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. In the past, we've gone to dinner afterward at nearby restaurants including El Agave and Mitsuwa. You're invited!

The High Performance Drupal meetup has moved to Yahoo! at the Yahoo Center in Santa Monica and we're meeting this time on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Join us!

The meetup begins at 7:30pm but the doors open a little earlier at 7pm for Users Helping Users, which is a chance for members of the community to help and be helped by others with whatever questions and problems they're having with Drupal. Several of us may be going to a local bar or restaurant after the meetup for a Drupal After Dark.

If you'd like to give a presentation, announce a job position or ask any questions of the group, please leave a comment below and plan to come a few minutes early. If presenting, be sure to bring your laptop (and power and display cables) and whatever else you need.

This event is free – in fact, there will be raffle prizes and food and drinks will be provided – and no RSVP is required. Please sign up and join us for the first Digital Design meet-up at MacMall in Santa Monica. The group's focus is on design, animation and interactive presentation utilizing HTML5. The meeting will focus on Adobe Edge, which is currently free and in beta. The software targets designers and developers who want to integrate rich motion graphics and interactive animation into their projects, leveraging web standards such as HTML5, CSS and jQuery.
