LA Drupal Business Summit
Hey guys, thought we should probably get a thread on LA / Cali Drupal Business Summits started to get a feel of what we should do to promote Drupal in a community effort in the Southwest. We (KWALL) have been discussing business summits with many of the community at camps / meetups / etc. and would love to volunteer to get this going and ensure that it's a great event to promote Drupal to interested parties, and not just a sales tool.

I am suddenly having problems with editors. I had wysiwyg editor installed. Used CKEditor and TinyMce and disabled both trying to get to root of prob. Used all filters on code. Full HTML, Filtered HTML and even display suite code. Tried all variations of above and even straight text.
But since this morning any piece of code I touch in a block adds a backslash in front of a single or double quote.

Read more Database Version Control with Git
I need help understanding the workflow for database version control because what I am doing now is not working.
When I am on a branch (1), and about to commit, I do a Drush @alias sql-dump, which creates a dump file in a particular directory in my repo and uses a specific name, per instructions in the aliases.drushrc.php file. Then I commit and the sql-dump is added to the commit. I see the messages and everything is working fine.
Read moreDeveloper or Themer?
At many events and sessions, the presenter asks the Drupal audience how many developers and then how many themers there are in the audience. I was just wondering why isn't there a category for a Drupal interface expert (who uses the advanced contrib modules)? I've been working with Rules and Display Suite, and of course Views, and I can do a lot through the interface of these contrib modules rather than writing a new module or do theming with templates and preprocessing.

Next Event
Has anyone else noticed that the "Next Event" listing sticks around about a day too long? For example, today, April 19th at 2PM in LA the "Next Event" is listed as the OC DRUPAL meet up which will happen.... yesterday?
This wouldn't be so bad if the list had 3 or so upcoming events. But since it is just one, it makes the page appear out of date. I suppose it has something to do with the date and time of the gdo servers not matching LA time.

We're organizing CloudCamp LA for Wednesday evening, April 11 from 6:00 to 9:30 at the CoreSite Data Center 900 North Alameda Street in LA. I thought some of you would like to join us at this third free CloudCamp unconference in LA.
CloudCamp is a free Cloud Computing event structured as an unconference without vendor bias. End users, IT professionals and vendors are all encouraged to share experiences, challenges and solutions. There will be lots of networking, food and discussion.

Trying to get a start-up company going based on a drupal web site. What is the best way to find part-time, work for equity, super smart developers? I know the web dev market is good for everyone right now, but aren't there a few techies still interested in the risk/reward of pre-funded start-ups? Help

Ok, so I just discovered that becoming a Drupal Association Member is only $30 per year! I personally feel that this is more than worth it for the slick little badge you get and what better way to support the community we all love. I guess I'm posting this for anyone that didn't know how in-expensive it is and also to bring up another topic...
Are there people out there that will sponsor developers we all know and love to get their memberships? If not, I think this would be a great way to show some of our devs how much we appreciate them AND give back to drupal at the same time!
