List of events at http://groups.drupal.org/la/events is out of date

Update: Due to lack of activity on the topic, I've started a new wiki page that makes it easier for everyone to find meetups and groups in the area and update that information as locations and schedules change:  http://groups.drupal.org/node/246793

It was mentioned during tonight's meetup that the GDO/LA site lists all the meetups in the Los Angeles area. I noticed when I checked, though, that the list is out of date. Here are some corrections:

Best way to update URL alias for deleted node

Hi all,

what would be the best way to pragmatically update the URL alias for a deleted node? When I delete a product, the URL alias stays intact, which of course then get handled by Drupal and returns a 404 (in my case I have an additional search provided). I ...

Adobe CSnextLA Sunday, June 10th

First off, this is not a Drupal-specific event. It is for Adobe's new release of CS6, Creative Cloud and their Touch Apps. I recognize some of you are FOSS purists and if this post offends you in some way, please feel free to down-vote it if you want.

On the other hand, I believe other members of the Drupal community use Adobe tools for media creation and may find this interesting.

Need help setting Views exposed filter input focus

As the subject implies, I desire for usability purposes to set the focus to the first input of an exposed input field. I've searched and can only find mention of something like this:

<?php
drupal_add_js
("$('#edit-name').focus();", 'inline');
?>

But there no mention of where to put it or how to use it, or if '#edit-name' is the ID of the input text box or the name of it.

I've tried putting the above in a custom module, in the page.tpl and others.

Obviously, I have tried several iterations and locations, but cannot find the key to open this lock.

Any help appreciated!

Forms Validation Help

I could use some coder help.

I have a page manager panel that displays a view with exposed filters for Location/Proximity and displays results of stores, along with a gmap for all resulting locations.

This works like a champ. The problem is I need to validate the results to make sure a zip code is entered, otherwise the result set is every store and the map takes a lot of time and resources to render.

I am trying to validate on the submit button, but it appears that the submit button is validated even before it is clicked.

Drupal, theming, templating, and some flash

Hi all,

I have a question that, without a doubt will make some of question my sanity, primarily since I am dealing with Flash. Ok, breathe...

I am tasked with adding a responsive site for tables and mobiles and an international (i18n) management platform to our web sites lineup. Currently, our main consumer site is built in Flash and and utilizes a custom CMS that everyone is familiar with (marketing ppl).

Drupal Commerce

I just learned about using the Commerce Kickstart module/core install (commerce_kickstart). Instead of using core to begin a site that's going to use Commerce, you can use the module's tar/zip file that has core AND many of the needed contrib modules inside to begin creating a Commerce site, and everything comes out from the initial install. You have a working Commerce site ready for customization right "out of the box"! One day I'll "settle" down and just build sites, but for now I'm having so much fun exploring...
