Austin

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Welcome to the Austin Drupal Users Group!

As of April 2025, we are no longer posting events in this group (there are too many places to post events and groups.drupal.org is dying a slow death).

TxDUG / Texas Drupal organizers are collecting contact info for Drupalers in Texas so we can stop being reliant on other platforms (here’s looking at you Meetup.com) for communicating announcements. Please fill out this form so we can email you about Drupal events in Texas (you can choose which regions).

Please join us in the #austin-texas channel on Drupal Slack. If you aren't already on Drupal Slack, join here.

We continue to post our meetups in Drupal.org's Community Events section.

For now, RSVPs for our meetups are in our Meetup Group, but this might change in the future. Best to be in our Slack channel or on our email list.

Hope to see you at an upcoming meetup!

Could someone please take over the Austin group as its official "Manager"?

Hello my fellow Austinites & a Happy New Year to you!

I'm currently the "Manager" of the Austin group but, like all good things, the gig is over & it's time to hand it over to someone else.

So...

Is anyone interested in taking over the Austin group as its official "Manager"? Please let me know by posting a reply here.

Thank you!
Walt

Taxonomy Filtering (Is there a problem with using taxonomy types with certain modules?)

Please forgive me for the long winded way in which I am about to present this to you. I only wish to explain in full detail the reason for this topic and question.

I have been developing a site for awhile now and I was recently attempting to use taxonomy filtering, for example "term/103,305" to create a combo search feature. However, for some reason when I attempt to combine the two term id's instead of it showing only results that are listed with both of the terms it's showing all of the results from both terms.

For example:

If you represent a Nonprofit, are at DrupalCampAustin right now, and happen to be getting this message, please try to contact me - Stefan Wray - about setting up a Birds of Feather on Drupal and Nonprofits.

Drive to drupal camp austin

I was curious if anyone from NC / SC / East coast was interested or heading out to Drupal Camp Austin? It's only $40 to attend 2 days next weekend, but the trip is about 19 hours for us.

Would anyone be interested in saving some money and car pooling down and back? I would love to go but don't have a reliable vehicle to make the trip. I live in Asheville, NC.

Reverse Open Mike Night

I'd like to propose a local reverse open mike night where you bring the problems that you are facing with your project or development environments and a group of reasonably well qualified "experts" respond to them directly with suggestions for how to resolve them. I spent countless hours as a novice struggling with the "Drupal Way" and would be happy to share anything I've learned along the way with local people in a similar situation.

On August 26 at 7pm, Todd Nienkerk, co-founder of Four Kitchens, will be giving a presentation. Since getting your feet wet with Theming - An Introduction, you may be looking for the best in subtheming design practices. Grid-based design is an integral part of many professional web designers' toolkit. Drupal's blocks, regions and complex content benefit especially well from this discipline. Come out to learn more, discuss with fellow Drupalists and have a drink afterward. . .

Problems with links going back to local installation

I am just launching my first drupal site, but I'm having a weird issue. Some of my items always refer to my local install instead of the live site. Did I do something wrong in deploying my site that would cause this?

Here is the live site:
http://bodyworkatx.com/

If you go to any of the pages (besides the home page) there should be a graphic header - but in firebug it always shows an absolute link to my local install.
